Naahhh Madao is in Top 5 character. As an adult, we know that in our hearts lol. Love the Madao episode and hearing Naruto in Gintama haha.

2024-08-23 04:30:29 +0000 UTCme personally madao not in top 10 doesnt offend me, somebody somewhere said that every idiot in this show is the main character of this show. and that resonates with me really well. i mean the joke about screentime for character is a meta joke among the character in gintama, but it also feel like it is not just a number game to sorachi. everybody get to be the main character of this show. with that said, gintoki is still the goat for me, the best character in fiction.

It's a popular history too where the shinshengumis attacked the joui shishi in ikedaya inn, resulted in 23 died from the attack (not included the jouis that did seppuku on the way back). This incident made the shinshengumi famous and said to be the reason why the emoji restoration delayed. Sorachi made this incident into sougo's birthday, July 8. Also the villain guy's voiced by katsuyuki konishi who voiced tengen uzui in demon slayer (I did that A LOT too, paused in the middle to try remembering where do I hear this voice before lol)

2024-08-20 08:15:38 +0000 UTCOh i'd agree that last eps is a 10/10. Gintama does have some standalone eps that really hits. This one also always left me in tears. Daigoro was voiced by takeuchi junko, Naruto's VA. And if you notice, the mom started writing the scripts since daigoro's narrative change into a bit poetical. The reason madao rank lower, I think as we all know, people love "badass" characters, this is shonen remember. The readers love the fights, fighting style, weapon etc. that's why the non-fighting characters, like madao, tae etc are always underappreciated imo, while charas like Takasugi, kamui (who only appear in a couple of chapters as the poll conducted) always rank higher. But don't worry, the author Sorachi sensei REALLY loves madao, he said that madao is the embodiment of samurai (spirit) in Gintama

At the end of the episode, Zura wonders what's so beautiful about Gin's way of living, but is grateful to have a friend who does not change. It's not told directly, but it shows him being less extreme with his methods since

Before that he was bombing buildings left and right, even planning on taking down that tower. Civilians would have definitely been caught up in that, and probably have been harmed by his bombings in the past.
