Oguri is live action gintoki which is purely coincidental, I highly recommend you check out the live actions films when you get the chance they are some of the best live action anime adaptations ever!

2024-07-09 11:40:58 +0000 UTCYou can watch the LA after you finished the anime. That was what I did. I finished the anime and then I missed them. So then I scrambled trying to find the LA. I'm usually not a fan of anime LA, but I think Gintama LA is not bad, srsly, sure bad effects etc but the cast bring the crazy goofy Gintama vibe well, in my opinion:)

Also almost laughing at your question "what's the deal with this actor? Are we gonna see him more later?" You know what, yearsssss after sorachi-sensei published this chapter, oguri shun (the actor) got casted as Gintoki in Gintama live action. During shooting, Oguri san asked to meet with Sorachi-sensei but Sorachi was so shy he didn't want to meet anyone. Oguri proceed to "threatened" Sorachi that he would sue gorilla sensei over using him without permission in this chapter/eps, unless Sorachi meet up with him lol. They did meet in the end, along with the director :)
