Also remember that after Ellie shot the young man in Kansas City, she told Joel that that was not the first time she "hurt" someone. I think it's safe to assume that after Riley turned into a runner later that day, Ellie was forced to put her down.

That video game was so controversial at the time here in the U.S. in regards to the game’s depiction of ultraviolence and gore. My guess is it was Sega Dreamcast for the racing game. The Dreamcast was short lived but it was a classic console system. Ahh, nostalgia..

It's the little things like how she told Riley to turn around when she was getting dressed. You become almost hyper aware at that age about things like changing rooms and finding/giving privacy to other girls, even if you don't know why yet. Or feeling super awkward in a lingerie store and feeling the need to avert your gaze/ make jokes to alleviate tension.

There's so much said through body language and I've watched my fair amount of reactors watch The Last of Us and most either don't notice, or don't care to notice the things that go unsaid. Also Dead Rising was amazing! There's a remaster that came out last year too, but I've not played it so I can't say how well it holds up over the years.

2025-04-11 15:27:08 +0000 UTCFirst : “ no, no, FUCK YOU Ellie and Riley” 😅 Second : This episode is the sweetest and saddest episode ever. Riley was all her “first”, love, kiss and kill. Third: this one is a gift for 90’s kids !!

2025-04-11 14:45:10 +0000 UTCthis episode (as do almost all the episodes of this show ☹️😔) makes me sob. ten years ago, i was 12 when i first started playing the last of us and ellie means just….so fucking much to me. she was the first lesbian character i ever knew, and she had been around my age at the time. She made me really think about myself in that regard for the first time, and she helped me see that it was even an option for me in the first place. Ellie helped me begin to know myself in a way that is just so special to me, and i will never be able to thank naughty dog and neil druckmann enough for giving this to me and every other girl out there like me, and like ellie, that needed to see this growing up. I do not know how long it would have taken me too not only realize this about myself, but accept it as something normal, and okay to be if it wasn’t for the last of us, for ellie.
