This episode is the perfect example of a shitty day in a life of a hero and a villain :D .... buttons were pushed here to the root of .. "I need to return to my essence: Fight like a hero and do things like a bad guy ....

2025-03-28 20:09:32 +0000 UTCThe painting he keeps in the cellar is "Rabbit in a Snowstorm, " the one Venessa sold him and how they met. He was drawn to it because it looked like the wall his father would make him stare at while beating his mother. I always interpreted his feelings about that painting as remembering his father and striving to be better, specifically since he now associates it more with Vanessa who believes in him than his abusive father. However, at the end of season 3, Matt beats him in front of the painting, spattering it with Fisk's blood, which I saw as the facade of good being stripped from him and the true bloody nature of Fisk being revealed. I think that's why it's in his cellar, which seems to be the place he goes to embrace his true nature of violence and indulgence that he is trying to hide from the world and Vanessa.

Fully expecting another spiel about cycles of violence and believing in tomorrow under the same status quo, but maybe Arcane has just jaded me, for now this is actually amazing though, completely blew past my expectations for this show.

2025-03-24 14:43:29 +0000 UTCA few things to note with the ending sequence with Matt and Fisk returning to their old ways. In the scene Matt is ascending while Wilson is descending, some pretty neat visual storytelling. Adam is also screaming "Let me out!" While it can be taken as literal, it also feels like Wilson and Matts true selves screaming to be let out. Also the bigger meal that Fisk is now eating, atleast in my opinion is representing his return to his old self. When Wilson decided he wanted to be a better person he also started on a diet, the breaking of that diet in my opinion is just him becoming his true self again.
