Moving forward with Arcane Season 2
Added 2025-02-02 14:53:27 +0000 UTCAs discussed in the last couple of live streams that we did there are some options regarding Season 2 of Arcane.
First option is ONE live stream next week, of 60-90 mins, which will be a 'where are we at' mini formulation probably focussing on Mel, Jayce and Viktor. This option will allow me to get into Season 2 faster (later that week), and then do deeper character analysis between the first two Acts of season 2.
Second option is to have THREE separate live streams next week for Mel, Jayce, Viktor (although that might run into the beginning of the following week). That will give us more time to talk about those characters, with the impact it will delay Season 2 by potentially a week and a half.
From a psychotherapist / mental health perspective I am not sure if there is much in depth discussion to be had regarding those characters and their mental health / psychological state.

2025-02-04 16:24:46 +0000 UTCI agree with ‘one big stream’ for mini formulations of those characters (Option 1), but I'd also caution against rushing straight into S2 at the cost of reacting to the soundtrack, behind the scenes, related stuff (e.g. ‘Blood Sweat and Tears,’ suggested by Luigi). Maybe some of that could be done alongside or after S2, but S2 will also have its own ‘extras’ worth reacting to... Soundtrack-wise S1 had 11 songs (plus ‘Get Jinxed’) spread across 9 episodes, while S2 has 22 songs across another 9 episodes. Behind the scenes wise, S1 had ‘Bridging the Rift’ while S2 only really has a 10m video. There's other BTS stuff too, but I'm trying to avoid repeating my earlier comments 🫠

2025-02-03 02:45:57 +0000 UTCOf course, that makes sense! Jayce, Mel and Viktor’s role definitely become more prevalent throughout S2, although especially in the second half from what I remember. I do also agree with what Markus commented above about adding Caitlyn to the mini formulation and analysis after S2 Act1. Caitlyn has a really interesting character development that I’m sure you’ll have a lot to discuss on psychological-wise.

2025-02-02 21:43:19 +0000 UTCI really suggest watching Blood Sweat and Tears(to not confuse with the bts one) before starting season two because it was released some day before season two, It's a music video made for the release of Ambessa ( The mother of Mel) in the game, gives you a little backstory about her and how death is seen in the world of Runeterra, if you watch it we will either explain in the comment or if you want you can watch the explenation video from Necrit that gives all the context (even if it would have many thing you don't know he would often do a quick explanation on what he is talking about)

2025-02-02 17:27:23 +0000 UTClooking at it all now, a lot of the characters appear very resilient and Jinx may be the one with the biggest struggle regarding her mental health. they all clearly carry their own baggage in their own ways, but we don't see any of them derailing as much as she does would be nice to see how you make your mini formulations on them based off of just Season 1, but there isn't as much i guess lore as we had on Powder so it would be understandable if you do a single stream for all three to just kind of put down your initial thoughts before what will come

2025-02-02 17:04:46 +0000 UTCI would maybe recommend adding Caitlyn to your list (or replacing Mel with her if you wanna stick with 3). She becomes pretty important in season 2 so having a baseline for her would be pretty nice IMO

2025-02-02 16:37:26 +0000 UTCI chose Option 1 simply because you’ll probably have more to analyze after Act 1 of Season 2 for Mel, Jayce, and Viktor. It would be interesting to see that deeper analysis later on and how it develops from the mini formulation in the live stream.
