Patreon only livestream - Is Silco a good father figure?

29.01.25 8pm - 9pm (GMT). Will try to stick to the hour! This isn't a presentation by me - this is a group collaborative discussion to try and answer this question.

Patreon only livestream - Is Silco a good father figure?

Honestly a valid opinion.. I don't like to think like that much, but the writers were considering something along those lines in early writing stages, it kinda still is this codependent eeri relationship because of the layered effed up-ness that they added for interpretation

You are entitled to feel what you want of course but I think the majority will strongly disagree

I think Silco loved Jinx, but I don't think he was a good father. I recognize that he has a lot of good qualities and shows a lot of care towards her, but the bad things are too egregious and tip the scales heavily towards "No." I think it's interesting because, Silco didn't see a small child that needed a home and out of the goodness of his heart, took her in. He was fully set on killing her and her entire family until he saw himself in her. I don't think he took her in with the intent to love her so much as use her and mold her into a version of himself ("It's okay... We'll show them.... we'll show them all.") but I do think along the way he actually did come to love her... or who she had become anyway. That entire scene where he baptized her was to "Let Powder die"... the parts of her that still cared about her family, the parts that he saw as holding her back.... because "Jinx is perfect." in the same way that Jinx felt rejected by Vi for the part of her that is Jinx, Silco also rejected the parts of her that are powder. (granted I believe we are one continuous chain that can't really be separated into halves like that, but that's the way Jinx seems to view it). But the thing that really clinches it for me, is that Jinx really doesn't seem to have anyone other than him, and when Vi comes back, she wants more than anything to reconnect with her and Silco is so threatened by the idea that Jinx might choose Vi over him, that he spends much of the season trying to kill her. The one other person in her life that she clearly still cares about, and Silco tries to kill her. I don't care how much he loves her, to me that's an unforgivable act.

Personal opinion but I always felt Silco loved her more then a daughter, romantically to a degree

I don't think it will turn anyone away but I know that people are going to be fighting eachother in the comments if enough see it. Comments are good for engagement so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I'd love to see an analysis or formulation of viktor before jumping into season 2, but im happy to jump into it regardless i just really love viktor and find his story SO compelling

Think I should put it up? I guess the question is will turn more people away from the channel than it will bring in!

Lenny

Looking forward to the stream! Can’t wait to hear what Stu has to say. A lot of people jump to conclusions about Silco so I hope we get some good discussion.

HeyItsVayy

Is being a good father figure the same as being a good father?

Simpelicity

I know if this goes out on youtube the comments will be a battlefield
