Fallen Angels and Fancy Colours

Fallen Angels and Fancy Colours

Agreed!

Thanks so much to bring this up ! Fortiche ( studio responsible for this master piece ) is full of art references on the show !! The behind the scenes video will tell more about it ! But is full of Easter eggs around art and meaning ! One that I love is around Nouveau and Art Deco ( the disc player and the lady art on the 5th episode) …

It’s always interesting to see how others perceive things, and what they notice that you missed etc.

I see reaction videos in general as being similar to when you share something you love/enjoy/ care about with a friend.

I thought there was something familiar about that frame with Powder but hadn’t connected what it was! The symbolism of the fallen angel makes perfect sense as well. The similarity is striking enough it had to be a purposeful decision to set up the shot that way. I’m really enjoying these shorter uploads and hope you are too!! Watching you enjoy and discover is exactly what I’m having fun watching as it fulfills the desire to share and discuss something you’re interested in with somebody else, so I also give a big thumbs up!

I think the short videos you’ve been posting recently are a great way to focus on specific things or details that can spark interesting discussions but that might sometimes get overlooked or lost in larger conversations. I really appreciate the format and the idea of watching you discover things this way. So big thumbs up from me!

Glad you liked it. I'm pretty sure most people will already know everything I'm talking about so i thought instead of me looking at the painting behind the scenes, then looking up information about it and presenting it to people etc. I thought I would just film my process of discovery and enjoyment of looking into it.

I love this painting, it’s one of my absolute favorite works of art (my brother even has it tattooed). It’s such a popular piece and I’ve seen it used as a reference in many other media, just like Arcane did. That shot of the defiant, rageful eye is so expressive... it never fails to give me chills! I also didn’t know there was a second painting, so thank you for this video and the info!

I knew about the connection and had seen the original painting but hadn't looked further into it great video. I think the second painting actually looks more like a frame we get with vander earlier in the episode before he yells "silco!" which would also be a neat reference because that second painting came before the fallen angel one. But I haven't pulled up the episode to cross reference.

Last Thing

I haven’t watched this fully, but I automatically see the image of Powder in the middle of her meltdown during the first half of episode three in the “Study for ‘Fallen Angel’” 1846 (around the six minute mark). It’s not exact but she holds her head in her hands a variety of times
