Here is where I am at with Arcane Video ideas so far...

I'm getting a lot of comments and its hard to reply to them all, although there are all getting read. I'm sure you can appreciate with it being Xmas, and having two young daughters of my own, its a very busy time and I have to put family first so things might be a bit slow over the next few days! But I thought I would drop this list so people can have an idea of some of the things in the works.

Here is where I am at with Arcane Video ideas so far...

I think that Jayce and Viktor formulations are always meant to be together. The juxtaposition of one's story against the other, their beliefs and their emotions/goals only add contrast that cement their beliefs and embolds them, both against eachother other and TOGETHER. Sometimes u can share ideals but go about them differently as goals or actions. And when those goals/actions aren't aligned, the ideals start to reformulate. There's also the social interactions between the 2, like the Steve Jobs to a Wozniak mindset: the bigshot social extravert CEO vs the deep thought cave dwelling intravert engineer. Or the dreamers of the future vs the pragmatics of the past, both off which want a similar goal, but their experiences show different ways of getting there, if ever, etc

i would love to see that Silco video

Jillian

As others said, there a two nine-episode seasons set up as six three-episode arcs. It was all written as one complete story. The first act is almost a prelude to set up the rest so you understand motivations.

PickettsChargingPort

I was really impressed with your formulations of Powder and Vander. I would really love to see a formulation of Vi in Act 1 as well.

StickyMango

Seconding tracking the differing perspectives and how those impact their relationships/behavior/reactions to things. As with moments like Heimerdinger's vs Jayce's perspectives on magic, this show does a great job of setting up antagonistic relationships based on differences in personal lived experience that shaped their views.

Kel Griffin

damn, amumu will hit hard, a interresting thing is that since he have a reeeaaaaalllyyy old model, his model style is a cartoon like character, leaving doubt if he is a yordle or a little kid

Marcos

The show has 2 season. Each season has 9 episodes divided in 3 parts of 3 episodes.

Mr.Furukawa1

I agree!

For each character, focusing on: Their perspective, Their desires, How those differ from those around them, and how it affects their relationships and behavior, Will hugely pay off as time goes on. It would be interesting if you may try to interpret the mistakes characters might make or have an oversight towards, based on their perspective and motivation, is something that can be analyzed between all characters in Arcane. These dynamics are what make the show so great! This comment was kind of a nothing burger but it can help foster some key analysis for character development

Firstly, I just want to thank you for the incredible work you’re doing. Arcane is such an amazing series, and on a personal level, it resonates deeply with me. Your breakdowns have been truly affirming and have added a whole new layer of understanding and appreciation for the show. If I could make a request, it would be for a breakdown of the ‘What Could Have Been’ soundtrack—though only once you’ve completed Season 1. I find the song incredibly powerful; it feels like it encapsulates the essence of the series so beautifully. I’d love to hear your perspective on it when the time comes.

Reece

It’s 2 seasons with 9 episodes each divided in 3 acts per season, so in total are 6 acts and 18 episodes. You stopped in the first act episode 3 so you finished the first act ! 5 more to go 🥰 and they are finished already, so the next projects won’t be around Vi / powder / Arcane story.

Carol Grein Ericson

no, arcane has 2 seasons!

Bea

Take the time you need. Life always but expecially around christmas time comes first. However I will be eagerly awaiting the next peice of content.

Last Thing

The shows got 2, 9 episode seasons

C_Forde

Thank you. When people say season 2 do they mean episodes 9,10,11?

StuBoy

Looking forward to the soundtrack reactions. Especially enemy after you watch episode 4

Just adding my thoughts to your list: - Amumu and Annie are unrelated to Arcane. - I love your formulations. I would definitely recommend updating your existing formulations and creating ones for Vi, Silco, Jayce, and Victor in that order of priority before you finish season 1. Sevika and Singed are fine additions, but I don't know if you have enough info on them right now. - Soundtrack Reactions: These are great ideas, especially if you are also considering their context/placement within their respective episodes.

Enjoy xmas with your family! <3 Ideas: Silco is my fave character! A formulation on Viktor would be amazing, he is so complex! And as a limpy gimpy-legged person myself, I have never felt so represented by a character in a show before. His ambition, ? Shame from where he is from while surrounded by leaders at a premier institute, and ? Embarrassment by his disability and what others think of him, is something I relate to deeply. I’m so grateful to Riot and Fortiche for making such a beautiful character.

I'll watch anything, but just to pitch in to what piques my interest from the list, in order: Powder's formulation Jayce's formulation Vander's formulation Vi's formulation Soundtrack reactions Silco, Viktor, Sevika, Singed and Grayson are likely better left for later, but I think they'd all be lovely as well. I also don't know who Annie and Amumu are so no clue on those. As far as things that have escaped your notice on the list, Heimerdinger and Mel would both be neat, but I think they should also wait for you to have more context on them. Either way, thank you for the update, and please don't feel burdened by thinking you owe us content during Christmas season, it's busy for us too and family should come first!

Matěj Macek

Vi definitely needs a formulation, yes! Jayce and Viktor as well, though you have very limited knowledge on Viktor for now. Maybe probably Silco as well. Episode 3 gives a lot of information on him and his past - and hints at why he takes Powder in, as well. As for Sevika and the doctor, ya those are probably best kept for later. Though if you really feel like making them, feel free to do that and update later ;)

Simpelicity

Edit: To better understand I would like to put a list in priority order that I think it will be a good format to watch. #1 Episode reaction No much explanation needed. It's the main attraction the foundation of everything. #2 Formulations and Soundtrack Those can be used as a filler in between episodes when time is limited since will just need to update formulations; and soundtracks are shorter format. *Formulations* can be done any time as you explain is just an assessment of the situation in time and can be revised later to update information. I would say that Powder is the most important, followed by Violet (how their dynamic transform through the show) Secondly I would say it's Vander and Silco. ( their dynamic, also similarity with Violet and Powder). Those who you can do a formulation BUT will need time and context to fully understand them. *in order of priority* *Silco *Sevika *Singed I think Amumu and Annie could wait, as they are not relevant in the "Arcane Program". Since you have a lot in your plate right now I would advice to focus on the task in hands which is Arcane. This alone already have much to unpack and a lot to work with, it is 18 episode of character development, subtle details in scenes and subtle details in character changes etc.

Mr.Furukawa1

Would DEFINITELY wait on Annie and Ammumu (neither champion are ever referenced or make it into Arcane at all!) Singed I would also wait on until after eps 4-6 at least (his personality and motives become veryyy slowlyyy more apparent over time) Viktor and Jayce as a video together would be super fun to see a formulation on for eps 1-3, but, to be honest, their partnership becomes more relevant in eps 4-6 so I'd save it for then—unless you're planning on doing something for them for every act (set of 3 eps)—their dynamic is so interesting to see change and grow throughout the series. Thank you for doing these and being so rigorous about seeking out audience feedback!! I haven't seen a creator this invested in their audience in a while. Happy Holidays!! <3

Arowyn

I totally agree!

Bea

I hope you update the formulations before watching episode 4.

Pasifist

If you haven't watched episode 4 yet, a LOT happens between episodes 3 and 4. I highly recommend first updating all the main characters' psychological formulations so you have a foundation to work on when analysing what happens in ep 4 and what has occurred since the events of episode 3

pluto

Spot on with this imo, Ammumu isn’t related to arcane at all afaik and I think Annie can certainly wait till end of s2

C_Forde

On my humble opinion to save your time : Amumu and Annie you could save to when you finish the arcane seasons. Vi, Victor and Jace formulations before season 2 would be great !!! Singed I think we can wait. Grayson and Silco I think it could be part as the final season one thoughts.

Carol Grein Ericson

Love what I’m seeing up there, and will certainly be watching all of them. I left a comment before about some characters we hadn’t met yet who would make good formulations, Councillor Medarda, Mel , was one of them. She’s a very nuanced character and I’d love to see you take a look at what might be driving her ambition from what we’ve seen of her so far. Her first appearance in episode 2 could be a decent starting place
