Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 4K 1.3.3 Update is out!

Hi all Patrons! Today marks the Patreon release of a major texture update to Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 4K. It includes over 130 new textures (yes, it's that much), covering both UI, environment and more. And like always, it also includes the super smooth 60 FPS patch! Please see the rest of the added features below;

This update is large and adds a ton of new 4K textures, and it also includes the neat 60 FPS patch to make the gameplay experience buttery smooth. Other improvements include tons of configuration changes, shader changes and other general bug fixes as well as much more!

This was posted in the previous updates' post as well, but as a reminder (or if this is your first time using Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 4K), Here are the default key bindings for using the bottom screen with your controller;

You may need to set these bindings again on your own controller in case Citra does not recognize it automatically. Simply double click the input button for each respective button and press the corresponding button on your controller and you should be good to go!

This should make the game much more enjoyable, especially if you're playing on a TV where you definitely don't want to be switching around between different controllers mid-action.

4K User Interface (practically) finished!

The UI which has been in the progress of being remade for the last couple of months is now nearly complete! Only some final touches and minor menus remain, as well as the main text font itself- which has proven to be extremely difficult to edit without serious reverse engineering and help from super smart programmers from different modding areas. I promise we'll get there sooner than later! For now, all the items have been re-retextured in the item menu. The same goes for area titles, maps as well as the initial startup screen. Oh- and the title screen finally says "4K" on all versions of the game instead of just "HD"!

Upgraded Kokiri Forest!

Kokiri Forest has been further upgraded with new textures for tree bark, leaves, trees, stumps, vines and more!

4K Overhaul in the Great Deku Tree!

The Great Tree and it's inside has been completely overhauled with new native 4K textures. This is the first dungeon getting this kind of treatment, but it's definitely not the last. Expect upgrades to more dungeons in future updates!

4K Overhaul in Lake Hylia!

Lake Hylia is finally in... you guessed it, 4K! This includes things like the bridges crossing the lake, the laboratory, the entrance of the Water Temple, the white tree, lily pads and much more.

4K Soft Soil!

Pretty much self explanatory!

4K Chests!

This one is also quite self explanatory... :P

Misc. 4K eyes, cobweb, colored tunics, reflections etc.

This also doesn't require any explanation. More and more "detail" textures are being reworked- we're getting closer and closer to that 100% complete mark!

And like before; Glorious 60 FPS!

Re-post from the previous update:

This is arguably an even greater upgrade available in Zelda: Ocarina of Time 4K than any of the textures. The 60 FPS patch is a first-time feature for Ocarina of Time 3D, and makes the game display in a buttery smooth 60 frames per second instead of the usual 30. This makes the game not just nicer to look at, but also makes it more responsive and reduces input lag. However, this feature is still in beta and has a few workarounds (you need to perform some special actions in certain instances to avoid the game from softlocking, for example. Instructions and more information is provided with the download!) Since the 60 FPS mode isn't quite ready for prime time yet, it's included as an optional special version which you can use if you're feeling adventurous (and don't mind doing a little bit of manual work!) The instructions are, like stated previously, included with the download. Have fun! :]

Selecting your game region (if you're using the PAL/European or Japanese version of the game);

All you need to do now, if you're using the European version of Ocarina of Time 3D, click the "Run this if you're using the PAL (European) version of the game.bat" file inside the texture pack folder. Done! It'll now work great with your version of the game. Easy, right?

How to enable MXAO (ambient occlusion) & DoF (Depth of Field):

This means you can now experience glorious self shadowing around objects, which looks really great with OOT's fantasy art style. Try it out by doing the following:

* Set your game view to "Single" in Citra.

* Set your resolution to 10x in the Graphics Settings in Citra.

* Press the "HOME" button on your keyboard, this will bring up the ReShade UI.

* Check the "MXAO" box in the list of effects.

* Go to the "Advanced" tab in ReShade and check the box next to the depth buffer in the list with the highest value (it should be a very high number while all others are 0). This number will change constantly, but don't worry it's supposed to do that!

* You're done. Have fun!

Enjoy!

The Update is available to all you Patrons here, with a public release in two weeks from when this post was published!

There is a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it. It's a large file, over 7GB so beware of that before you download it! The 1080p version is smaller in file size, but doesn't look quite as nice. You can download both and test which one works best for you, if you want! :)

Please feel free to try it out!

(Only available for use with the Citra 3DS emulator, the texture pack does not work on real 3DS consoles).

You can find more information about my HD texture pack here.

Download it here!

I am only able to make things like this thanks to your support, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me do what I love!

Thanks for all the hard work you do!

Amazing work on OOT and MM. I can't believe that it's still getting better and better =) I hope you get enough support and that you'll continue doing wonders.

Domen Ambrož

thank u man, you're amazing!!

Awesome! Thanks so much for the quick response and the solution! Looking forward to the 1.4 release.

Hi Trevor! This is an issue I found out about only after the 1.3.3 update had been released. I was under the impression that the clouds were the same in the child and adult eras, and therefore only fixed the child era clouds. The adult era clouds have been fixed now as well, and will be included in the upcoming 1.4 update which should be out November 1st! Although, if you want the fix straight away, I've uploaded the clouds on Google Drive for you so you can simply replace those two textures with the updated ones with the fixed seams: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nDSS5ULgeod8W7JNK3frMQ0AKQxYFm5-/view?usp=sharing

Hey Henriko, been using your lovely graphics packs for a while. Unfortunately I still seem to have those ugly seams in the sky, even with the new version and the independent citra emulator. Seems to be present no matter what version of citra I use with the textures, no matter what setting. Particularly visible in the cloudy sky around castle town in adult link era. Any idea how I can finally can rid of these borders in the sky?

Thank you! I just had to re-configure.

Ray Danger

It's when you press down the stick so that it clicks! Keep in mind you need to set up touch screen bindings to your controller yourself since it doesn't transfer over in Citra at the moment. It's really easy though, just follow the first part of the video guide here: https://youtu.be/N8NS2Hu1Smk?t=202

Henriko Magnifico

What do you mean by Left/Right Joystick Buttons? I can't get the Gear or Map screens from my ProController...

Ray Danger

Hi Benjamin! The left and right analogue triggers don't work in Ocarina of Time 3D, since it was developed before those buttons existed on any 3DS consoles, hence it doesn't have any built in checks for those buttons. The select and start buttons should be easy to fix though, just go into the "Input" tab in the Citra Configuration settings and replace the input binding for Start and Select to the correct corresponding buttons on your controller and it should do the trick!

Henriko Magnifico

Hey man the Citra emulator doesn't have a place for the left and right analog buttons. Also, the select button is the same as the start button, which only takes you to the save screen. Any thoughts?

youre doin the lord's work man, absolutely incredible stuff <3

Hi I am a relatively new patron so forgive me if this question sounds silly. I have already been playing the 1.3.2 version of OOT, if I download the new 1.3.3 version how do I transfer my game save over to the new version? I would assume it would be a file in a folder that would simply need moving...?

Aww man! I wish you told me that! I could’ve done that for my YouTube let’s play! There’s always next time
