I'm pleased to announce the release of the next update for Zelda: Skyward Sword 4K! This update includes many bug fixes and improvements. Most and foremost it includes full support for PS3, PS4 and even PS5 Dualsense controllers- including gyro controls. It also fixes the infamous "background blur bug" which plagued many users when they didn't have a very specific revision of the game, and much more!
This is something which should have been present from the start, but sadly wasn't due to me simply not owning a playstation gamepad to set it up with. Anyways, it's finally here! All you need to do to get your Playstation controller working perfectly is to install and start the included program fork called "DS4Windows", sounds familiar? The included fork also supports gyro input, which is necessary to play Skyward Sword in the most comfortable manner. Next, simply open up Zelda Skyward Sword 4K.exe and click on Input settings > Configure the first Emulated WiiMote slot and load the "PS5" preset in the top right. Then start the game. It's that easy! The controls behave almost identically to those of the Switch Pro Controller- so if you've used that previously you don't need to re-learn any bindings or anything.
This means that all the three major controller platforms are now fully supported! No matter what gear you've got, you'll be able to enjoy Skyward Sword 4K. And I love that!
This is a pretty huge change, believe it or not! Thanks to modder Anerion, there are now background blur removal codes for all revisions of the western versions of Skyward Sword! This means that no matter what revision your game rom is, you'll still be able to disable the distracting background blur. All you need to do is go into the game properties and check that the correct code is enabled for your particular revision. Doing this is super simple;
Right click Skyward Sword in the games list in Dolphin > Click "Properties" > In the "Info" tab, check your revision of the game. It should say either Revision 0, Revision 1 or Revision 2. > Go into the "Gecko Codes" tab in the same section, see if the correct code is enabled. Disable the other code and enable the correct one if it's not set to the right version by default.
That's it! Enjoy the game.
In the old texture pack's folder, open the "User" folder and copy the folders "Wii" and "StateSaves" to the exact same location but in the new texture pack's folder. Select "overwrite" if it asks!
You're done. Your save data has been successfully copied over! :)
There are two versions of the texture pack you get to select once you've downloaded it. One is the "Post Processing Edition", which includes all the post processing effects showcased in the trailer like ambient occlusion, tone mapping, bloom and more. The other version is the "Standard Edition" which doesn't include these features but has some other benefits instead.
The Post Processing Edition utilizes Ishiiruka Dolphin to achieve these features, which unfortunately means gamepad/ wiimotion plus emulation is not possible in this version- you must use a REAL wiiremote & nunchuck combo using an external device like the Dolphin Bar. It also requires Windows 7 or higher and a dedicated graphics card. The standard edition includes a controller preset for common gamepads like the Xbox One controller, which means you can play the game without using a real wiiremote & nunchuck! This version also alleviates some minor Dolphin bugs present in Ishiiruka Dolphin and support MacOS & Linux, too! Both versions look stunning so if you're uncertain I recommend you play the standard version- you won't miss out on anything big!
Enjoy!
This update, 1.0.5, is available to all you Patrons here, with a public release in two weeks from when this post was published (in 1080p)!
There is also a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it! Please feel free to try it out!
Notice: The 4K version will look better than the 1080p version, even if you don't have a 4K display. This is because the 4K version has physically larger textures with more detail!
(Only available for the Dolphin Emulator on PC or mobile (Android/iOS), the texture pack does not work on real Wii or Wii U consoles).
You can find more information about all my HD texture pack here.

I am only able to make things like this thanks to your support, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping me do what I love!
