Wii Sports 4K (HD Texture Pack) 1.0.1b Update

Update 1.0.1b (2022-05-07): Update 1.0.1b has been released to fix an issue where some users got a black screen when trying to open up the game with the texture pack enabled in Dolphin. It also now includes a version which is properly compatible with Dolphin on Android & iOS!

Update 1.0.1 (2022-02-17): Update 1.0.1 has been released relatively silently to fix some issues with the 1.0.0 release, including corrupted textures in the 1080p version and some textures looking out-of-place (the terrain textures in Wii Golf, specifically). The 1080p version has also been removed for now, since it served little purpose (the pack is only 500MB in 4K anyways, so maintaining the 1080p version just isn't worth it since almost any configuration can play the 4K version anyways). That's about it, enjoy!

No, seriously. This is actually a new texture pack project. This is not just a joke!

I'm happy to announce that my latest HD texture pack, Wii Sports 4K is now available to all Patrons! This is a large overhaul of Wii Sports and includes over 300 new faithfully recreated 4K textures, an updated user interface, custom shaders with support for things like ambient occlusion and crystal clear text for all messages in the game. With full support for both the European, American and Japanese versions of the game. The installation process is also incredibly simple with minimal effort required from the user to set it up and start playing. The texture pack includes a preconfigured version of the Dolphin emulator for Windows, with optimized preset settings so you (ideally) don't have to lift a finger once you have the game running. If you're using a Mac or Linux OS, using it on those platforms is incredibly easy as well. Just load in the game rom and play!

The texture pack's first official release, 1.0.0, is available to all you Patrons here, with a public release in two weeks from when this post was published (in 1080p)!

There is also a 4K version available, if your computer can handle it! Please feel free to try it out!

Notice: The 4K version will look better than the 1080p version, even if you don't have a 4K display.

(Only available for the Ishiiruka Dolphin Emulator on PC or mobile (Android/iOS), the texture pack does not work on real Wii or Wii U consoles).
