It starts off with chill jazz vibes, like the soundtrack of The Hustler, then livens things up half way through with those hot brass notes, similar to Copeland's Mambo from West Side Story, all while staying true to the richness of Billie Holiday's original 1940s version*. (Fun side note, both of those films were released in 1961.) Pretty wild. Glad to hear a very well deserved long weekend was enjoyed at the lake. Hope more are in store. Looking forward to the next crazy tune. *Looks to be written in 1939, recorded in 1941 and released in 1946, if google can be trusted.
