Every time she mentions she's trying to figure out the twists and such based on how writing works (i.e. formulas), I always tell myself I'm not gonna follow that if I ever write something. It's cool that viewers/readers can figure out plot threads and twists based on the writing, but I personally think it's cooler to figure out shit based on the content, not meta-knowledge.

But in this case, it makes kinda sense to me. Wednesday and Fester probably just didn't care that the zombie could be freed, or at least didn't expect it. The zombie's chain thing being weak is probably just them underestimating the strength of the zombie, especially since it didn't manage/try to free itself anytime before this. The zombie went for a random person. The guards didn't stop Thornhill because there was a fucking zombie chomping on their fellow guards, which obviously should take priority. 58:58 I was slightly surprised you never considered LOIS wouldn't *necessarily* be a person. I clocked that shit almost instantly because when a name is written in all-caps it sometimes tends to be an acronym.
