This episode highlights a central theme of this show: Grief, how we handle it. King Harrow was manipulated by his grief into slaying Thunder. Zebeia in her grief, sentenced Ezran and Harrow to death. In Claudia's grief, she is now vulnerable to Aaravos's manipulation. And in Aaravos's grief, he let his grief turn to malice. The cycle of hatred and grief is intertwined. Esmeray grief over Luna Teneberis harmed the Celestial elves.

2025-08-02 21:34:59 +0000 UTCUnrelated to the episode, but Aaravos is what started my love for characters with themes and designs based around stars, and just the theme of stars and the cosmos in general. Then the Collector from TOH just reinforced it. Moon Knight also tapped into it a bit with all the moon stuff. Like, genuinely, I LOVE star themes and imagery. I've also come up with a concept for a fantasy race of beings born from stars, and separate star-like characters separate from that concept. I just think it's so cool! So thank you for that, Dragon Prince lmao. If I ever end up making a comic, or a show, or anything like that, I will absolutely 100% guarantee there will be a character based on or inspired by Aaravos and/or the Collector, who wields powerful abilities coming directly from the stars.
