2025-01-15 15:51:20 +0000 UTCThe third season had come out in November 2019, and this season came out in November 2022. My guess is that the time skip was not originally part of the story, as the season would have likely been out sooner had it not been for the pandemic.

2025-01-15 14:06:36 +0000 UTCI'm so glad you immediately picked up on how poorly Amaya responded to the flame ribbon dancers, and how Janai should have approached the surprise differently! One of Season 4's central themes is understanding (or lack thereof), and how to exist alongside people who think and feel differently from you. It comes into play for a lot of our characters!

Imo this season overall wasn't quite as good as the previous ones, but I still enjoyed it. I will say though, there's one scene this season I absolutely hate, and it's literally just an extended unfunny gag. It might even be in this episode, I'm not sure. I'm typing this before watching as usual.

2025-01-15 13:44:53 +0000 UTCEzran's voice was a bit of an awkward thing, since with the first three seasons having done the usual animation thing of prepubescent boys being voiced by adult women, now they were in the position of either replacing Sasha Rojen with a man, which could be way too jarring, or just keeping her and being limited in how convincingly male she can sound. They went with the latter.

God's sometimes can but often with caveats that make it a bad idea. Or in some you can break into the afterlife and steal them back likewise a bad idea. This will end poorly.

2025-01-15 13:42:00 +0000 UTCThere is a comic and a couple of short stories that flesh out some of the stuff that has happened in the two years, one of the smaller stuff being Corvus becoming part of the Crown Guard. Its said by Soren that the "plot against the king" is Crown Guard stuff but without reading the short story, it's actually kind of hard to remember that Corvus was just one of Amiya's troops.
