She has made it abundantly clear she has no desire whatsoever to even consider any nuance or possible thoughts about Viren other than "bad man bad! does bad thing!" It's honestly wild considering how much grace she gives every single other character on almost every other show.

Mike Webb

Against their will..? What? They did want that. None of them panicked or fled in any way. Not even simply turn their backs symbolically on Viren. Most looked impressed after the first person that prince was changed

I absolutely ADORE Jason's line delivery in the show. You can actually hear that Viren's gotten corrupted more and more as the episodes go on. Like, if you go back and compare his casual speaking voice in S1 to his casual speaking voice now, it's so much darker. That change only really started taking place after Aaravos possessed him in the S2 finale. Viren's voice recently has been full of grit and gravel as he's grown more and more consumed with anger at Xadia and it gets more prevalent with each episode //SPOILERS FOR SEASON 4// ...That acting choice really gets highlighted more in the next season. You can hear Jason's vocal delivery return to something closer to S1 Viren (maybe even pre-S1 if the flashback episodes are anything to go by), which really drives home that his voice is indicative of how corrupted he is

I think it's actually a really good way showing of how much Amaya's elf friend trusts her now when she tells the translator to stay behind at around 14:30. She's allowed Amaya to have her armor/weapon back which is already showing a lot of trust, but by not having any way of understanding her, the elf is basically saying "I'm going to fully trust in and follow your actions going forward..." which she does when Amaya stops her from going after Aaravos/Viren.

Feels like getting to the meat of the show. Verin is very boring to begin with and when averous gets more active thenshow picks up a lot.

Suplee215

The elf in the end credit's isn't the queen...or at least now the queen that Aaravos dissolved. That's Queen Aditi, the hot sunfire elf and her sister's ancestor.

Kaykic

Yes! Get someone to look it up and write you a sealed translation. You WILL want to know what she signs right then!

Hate to break it to you but that's still a choice. She could've chosen to not stay with Soren. That was a thing. But she chose to stay because her mom wanted her to take care of her brother and she wanted to keep everyone together as best as possible. And just like with this, she chose to stay when she could've easily gone with him. That's literally why the line is "Don't make me choose", not something like "Don't force me to follow you".

Nektis Noir

She didn't choose. Just like with this one of her relatives made the choice for her. Her mom told her to stay with her brother and Soren said goodbye.

Megan

Thank you Elijah. That’s what I’ve always thought. Viren is a pretty petty villain, but Aaravos… He’s pretty much the “Bill Cypher” of the Dragon Prince universe. Only with a more weirdly sexy voice. 🥵😱

Aaravos: "Conquer Xadia?" Viren: "No." Aaravos: "Conquer Xadia?" Viren: "No." Aaravos: "Conquer Xadia?" Viren: "Yes."

Flufux

Claudia said "Don't make me choose; not again" because, as she mentioned in Book 2s finale, when Viren and his wife separated, she had to choose what parent to be with and she chose Viren because Soren wanted to stay with him and she wanted to keep the family as together as possible.

Concur! Get a concealed or spoilered copy of amaya's next lines and have it on hand for your reaction!

Elijah: "Arcane is over! No more art!" TDB: "I got you, sis." (brings back Amaya and Hot Sunfire Elf Chick) Elijah: "Finally!" Excellent hoodie. I trust Mosco had to muzzle you to keep you from singing along? Consider that Amaya was wearing her armor when she and Hot Sunfire Elf Chick rush in. Plate maille is not something you can don yourself. So someone must have helped her. And I don't think it was Kazi...fan artists, you're up.

Now that you have seen how creepy Aaravos is and have found the villain you were waiting for, I can confidently say (without spoilers) that he only gets creepier from here. You will absolutely be stunned by what the creators did with his character !!

I whole heartedly concur! Or have someone write it on a note that you can read right after she signs so you can see the translation.

This episode actually sent me on a twenty minute tirade to myself about leaders and villains. In essence it boiled down to leadership presence. Only some of the characters so far have it. Vieran has it but it's a politicians presence, he is trying to be a monarch so it doesn't work for him. Callum has glimmering of it but lacks the self possession and raw strength a monarch would need, Same with ezrin although Erin's main issue is his age. His link to the dragon Prince and his animal speech power could easily be leveraged into the strength needed to have a monarchs presence. The young woman who rules the other human kingdoms whose mothers died also had the begginings of a monarchs presence but lack of any demonstrations of personal power precludes it for now. In this entire show so far the only person who has shown the three characteristics needed to have a monarchs presence in my opinion, those being that they 1: are self possessed they know who they are and what they want. 2: They can inspire their underlings to follow them and obey. And 3: they can inspire respect and fear in their enemies through their shear character and personal power of some kind. The only one in my view who definitely has all these qualities is Aaravos and as far as we know he isn't a ruler. Amaya is close but she doesn't have any amazing quality that sets her apart that a monarch would need a good general and advisor certainly but not someone I would trust to lead a nation.

After Season 6 the ,,not again" part hits way differently, and way more deeply that with just the original context of said scene in this episode.

That last end credits picture was a reference to the first time Prince Kasef was mentioned. His father, who was one of the kings of the meeting in season 2, said about Queen Aanya "My 19-year old don't know half of the words you just said, and still gives me grief about eating his vegetables." ...so the picture showed that even after being transformed into a fire beast, he still hates eating vegetables.

Flufux

In the scene where Claudia have to make a choice between leaving with Soren or staying with Viren and she says “no Soren don’t make me choose, not again”. She’s referring to the choice she and Soren had to make when her mother left Viren where Soren wanted to stay with Viren and her mother asked her to stay with Viren to look over Soren. She had this conversation with Ezran in 2x09

ALERT! Important message about Amaya! Not a spoiler! The next time you see her, she will sign something that will not be translated. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you get that translation in the moment. Your reaction will benefit. Either have one of your mods send you a link to the translation, or a spoilered version of the text on Discord. Some versions of this episode include subtitles, so you might have someone on staff who can find you one of those specifically. But then, if you've been studying, you might be able to at least pick up a few key words.
