Something I very much recommend checking out is the World of Remnant shorts on YouTube. They explain a lot of the lore around things like Dust, Aura, and Grimm which isn't really explained in the show because indie budgets. Hope you (are/will) feel(ing) better soon. If you are projecting, you are /far/ from the only one about that scene when it first came out. Still used as evidence to this day. While Blake/Yang is a favored pairing, mine is Ruby/Weiss. Although that's pretty unlikely as Weiss has shown no interest in girls and Ruby no interest anything not a weapon. :p

While the Burning the Candle conversation was definitely one of the highlights of this video (and rightly so), I do still want to give a shoutout to the Pyrrha vs CRDL fight. It's still one of my favorites in the series. It's not high-stakes or a pivotal moment for a person or group or anything, but it's just *fun*. I'll never get tired of seeing bullies come face to face with someone they don't pose even the slightest threat to. Also, given that Mercury was offered his pick of opponents, I would assume Pyrrha was as well. I have a feeling their treatment of Jaune was on her mind when she said something to the effect of "I'd like to go up against Team CRDL. All of them. At once." And of course proceeded to flatten them in front of their entire class.

So about that "she reminds me of a Greek or Roman warrior" thing: almost every character is inspired from some kind of mythical or folkloric figure. Pyrrha is based on Achilles, so you're right on the money.

Gotta admit it's kinda weird how Yang finally reveals she has a different mom than Ruby and that that's the reason they have different last names and drastically different appearances and Elijah kinda barely reacted despite her having that question since the Yellow Trailer lmao. Oh well, she was probably just low energy from the sickness. Hope she's feeling better ^^

@Spywi, I have been religiously careful about not posting spoilers in comments since the RWBY reactions began — far more careful than many of the folks here. If you want me to remove my comment above of course I will comply, but I take exception to being called an asshole and "rude to others in the chat" when they're the ones jumping down my throat with insults and accusations as though I'm some troll "determined to ruin a good thing" when I work so hard specifically against that. Burning The Candle is definitely one of the best episodes of the Poser Pro era of RWBY tbh. It's a classic for a reason. I wish we could've gotten the dresses Ein Lee designed for it though. And as usual, trust me Elijah we all understand why you're conflicted over Cinder. You are not alone. She's unfairly attractive and god her voice is so nice.

Burning the Candle is an absolute CLASSIC, super iconic episode! RWBY may be mostly known for its awesome fight scenes and baller soundtrack but the small moments between the characters are fantastic as well, super great characterizations in these ones.

This is also my first time watching the show, and I can definitely tell you you aren't projecting with that gay ass wink LOL. (unless I'm also projecting...whoops) It is a CRIME we didn't get a catra/adora amity/luz esc dance scene with them tbh. Idk if the show is planning anything for them or if that moment was meant to be straight as a ruler, but either way, that was very gay of Yang haha.

Dafydd, Elijah isn't stupid. She is, in fact, extremely smart and perceptive. Just look at how she immediately saw that the symbol on the crates in the Black trailer matched Weiss's glyphs in the White trailer. Elijah knows that there are quite a few more volumes of RWBY that have been released. She was very fixated on that hug and its significance. And then you comment about the creator talking about doing more with that in the future. What conclusion do you expect her to draw? And do note the contextual difference between a creator talking about (at the time of recorecording) hypothetical future events, and a fan who *knows* future events drawing attention to those comments.

This is the episode out of all of volume 2 that I was most eager to see you react to! The Hug between Blake and Yang is definitely my favorite part of this volume!! God the energy in the JNPR must’ve been wild. You’ve got 4 17 year olds with whatever is going on between Ren and Nora, a completely and painfully oblivious Jaune, and Pyrrha who’s too nice to be honest with her feelings for Jaune. Nice that u caught the Greek influence in pyrhhas design. The members of team jnpr are inspired by mythological figures who cross dressed in their myths. Pyrhha is Achilles, jaune is Joan of arc, Ren is Mulan, and Nora is thor.
