"lack of evidence" Domestic violence infamously has trouble leaving evidence behind.
"probably just done for money or attention" The defences used for every single celebrity accused of such things, and to shame people that come forward with allegations.
"I could never see him doing this" A remarkably common perspective on people who then turn out to have done this.
These aren't definitive points, but they demonstrate how those are not sound as arguments.

While there is not much media coverage, you can find that he was granted custody of their kids and won defamation lawsuits against both her and the paper that ran the story first. Additionally he was not dropped from Disney, at any point, and they’ve proved they will drop people for much less. So it’s decently safe to say, there was nothing there at all.

Ok, understandable. And yeah, while there are people who do need to be held accountable for their actions, but if there’s lack of evidence to further if he actually did these things, then I feel like this was for money, attention, or just some other goal in mind to accuse someone of this. I personally could never see Jim doing something like this, because of how kind hearted he’s been. I do get that you want to detach yourself from his work because of this if these allegations were true or not. I hope I’m making sense in this comment and not sounding like an idiot lol

oh my god, that plush at the start was so fucking cute aaaaaa!
Darkwing Duck was another one of those series that I've always been meaning to check out, but never did. Despite never watching the original Ducktales or DD, I've always been aware of parts of them simply due to how iconic they are, and more recently, reading a bit on wikis after watching this show. It's always interesting to see how old material is adapted.
Also Launchpad getting his driver's license and being so happy and proud of that is adorably endearing. And it's cute that he wants to impress Scrooge with that.

That's true, but honestly, I felt as though the end of this episode helped move him towards being a more compelling antagonist, by virtue of giving him something more concrete and external to pursue and finding something oddly endearing in his infatuation with Gizmoduck.

His ex-wife Stephanie accused him of various forms of abuse in 2019. I've kept trying to follow up on that story over the years, and while it was never heavily followed up on, the best I could tell it was the "lack of evidence to prosecute" form of that rather than anything that might particularly absolve him. People can make their own judgements about that, but for me personally it just detached me from much of his work, which unfortunately included me no longer wanting to watch this show at the time.

Wait, what allegations? Don’t tell me Jim did terrible things, because he’s one of my favorite voice actors

Yes! A two of the OG Ducktales universe coming into this verse: Gizmo Duck and Darkwing Duck! Also, agree with you Elijah. Mark Beaks is essentially like the modern billionaire and a huge dick. 🤣

As you might imagine, it was tremendously controversial that this show made Darkwing Duck a fictional work in-universe, especially when the pilot mentioned St. Canard as being a real city in this world. The crew responded that they were well aware of the risk they were taking, and promised they were going somewhere with the idea that would be worth it. And getting Jim Cummings back was a definite plus.

Unlike the original, Fenton's last name is now the hyphenate Crackshell-Cabrera. And yes, this is Hispanic representation, which will be more evident in a later episode.
Darkwing Duck aired in '91, existing within the Ducktales universe, whereas here it was an old action show.

That was Lin-Manuel Miranda as Gizmoduck. He’s going to be a pretty big character throughout the show.

Gizmoduck was pretty cool in the original generation (I think one of my personal favourites), although I have to admit that I like this one a little more for not being quite as perfect.

I do have some mixed feelings about bringing Lin Manuel Miranda into this (I think this is about a time when he was a bit overexposed), but I at least credit his voice acting for feeling distinct to the character.

Launchpad's birthdate on the licence is the date of the premier of the original DuckTales TV series.

Oh my God, right at the start for once. Have to make sure I don't mess this up... Darkwing's Duck inclusion in the series makes me uncomfortable after the allegations against Jim Cummings. Still, I can see the value of calling back to the popular series like that.
