"A better solution that doesn't require killing something" - If only that were an option, but as things stood, it was 100000 people for the life of one person. It's a greater good/lesser of two evils argument.
It's easy to just say, well, find a better solution, but if there is none, then what do you do? Do you just let a hundred thousand people die? I doubt it's the king and his family that'll starve in the winter too. He speaks about inequalities, but he lives a posh asf life in his castle, with none of the worries of the peasants. It's more than a bit hypocritical, even though he was on the right path questioning why he has all the privilege of a crown.
I think Viren wasn't wrong or badly intentioned, he genuinely wanted to do what was best for the Kingdom he served, but it does come back and bite them all in the backside. Still, if I were the king, I'd find it hard to say no to him and just let thousands of people starve while sitting in the comfort of my own castle knowing I won't be the one to suffer the consequences of MY decision.
"So you decided to kill something to get something. So you're just shitty" - It's not exactly unheard of for humans to kill something to be able to feed people. We kinda all do that, I mean unless you're vegan I guess, but that's not much of an option in Medieval times. I don't know how many animals you'd have to slaughter to feed 100000 people, but I am guess it's more than 1.

I totally get what you mean. I love Elijah a lot, but I do think sometimes her comments come off a bit as... sexist (?) towards men. At the end of the day, shitty people are shitty people regardless of their gender and putting anyone in a stereotype box is just hurtful.

TW: Self Harm/Parental Trauma/drug use
Hey Elijah, as a Patreon for a while and a fan for a lot longer I just first want to say I love your content and it has gotten me through a lot of hard times. Especially any content with you and your wonderful girlfriend (who I am also subscribed to on Patreon.) That being said I do want to bring up one thing.
Last episode you made a comment about Viren cutting himself. Which as someone who has dealt with self harm in the past honestly really didn’t bug me. Honestly your hatred of him is justified and while he is a more nuanced character than you’ve currently seen my issues doesn’t really involve him at all.
I am a transfem individual though I identify as nonbinary/genderfluid. And through the years of finding myself I had one person who supported me and that was my dad. My dad is actually pretty awesome. My mom was to put it nicely not a good person, she had problems with substance abuse and was extremely homophobic, and transphobic and used religion to justify her horrible beliefs. When I was sixteen my dad suffered a back injury that left him nearly paralyzed and instead of “Till death do us part” my mom abandoned my father and I. Looking back at it though she was never really there for me or my dad. SO sorry for the long setup but my point is, when you said “No wonder why Queen Aanya turned out so wise and good” it honestly stung same with your comment on “Men just want to fight.” I obviously don’t know where you’re coming from but I feel like your view on men is extremely negative almost to the point of toxicity. It almost feels like you can’t see any men in a positive light, (except for children characters) and I am very aware that a LOT of men in society are shitty but not all of them are.
My dad who is currently going through Alzheimer's was drafted into Vietnam, he didn’t agree with the war but instead of dodging the draft he became a paramedic. He figured if he was forced into war he wanted to save lives and not take them. Then when he returned home to people who called him a baby killer and a warmonger he was so disheartened he started his own ambulance company, he served as a paramedic and a firefighter for thirty three more years. Some nights I still think about all the people still walking around on this earth because of him.m, yet how humble he is about it all. I just wanted to share his story so that you know not all men are bad. I feel like media always portrays men as stupid, angry, evil people. But when I came out to my dad he was so kind and accepting. So it’s just a little rough for someone whose reactions I rely on to get me through hard times and to hear so much distain for someone simply for their gender. I don’t mind you hating on shitty people but to be so negative to a gender entirely regardless of their actions is hard to watch.
I’ll continue to watch and support you because I believe you are a good person and a great content creator and far be it for me to tell you to change your views and opinions but if you could just consider what you say a bit more and how it effects others. Not all wounds are as visibly as I cut wrist. ❤️

This is a pretty important point imho. In the past, Harrow found it easy* to care about fairness for humans, but lacks the vision/awareness to acknowledge the personhood of elves and other creatures. I think at some point he began to waver from the ideas he once shared with Viren. He loves that man, but they are no longer in synch once we meet them in season 1.

As much as I dont like Viren, and I REALLY don't like Viren, the only reason he is going after the Magma Titan is to save Katolis people from a mess Harrow caused.
His heart was in the right place, but as king, the lives of his people are entrusted to him. "We will share in their suffering" rings hollow when its not his own family that'll fall to the famine

Loved the cute unicorn shorts.
Twice you called him soran, lol. Soran is a man compared to that whiny little b that is his father. I did hear anything about a banana, but if your mom said it, it must be funny and or cute. Shout out to your awesome mom!!
