This is my favorite episode out of any animated series. It hits so many notes in their relationship, the support and enthusiasm and affection, the importance of communication and reciprocation, acknowledging when someone's done emotional labor for you... it's tragic, it's beautiful. So many demonstrations of different kinds of love on display. I come back to watch it often because it helps me process my own feelings, which otherwise get stymied by depression making everything a sludgey gray emotional mess. It really makes Lumity a three-dimensional relationship. It's sweet, but the kids are still learning, and the problems we see here don't get instantly resolved. Luz still wants to shoulder the burden and blame right up through the end of the series, because that's the kind of person she is. Just as she helps Amity become a person who has the strength and conviction to advocate for herself, Amity is involved in teaching Luz that her mistakes don't make her less worthy of being loved, and her trauma is a continual barrier to that lesson sinking in. Amity really is the best girlfriend.

I like the subtle tip of the hand with the "unite them with the Titan" bit. Cause if the Titan is dead, then "uniting" them with it could be construed as killing them, which was the goal.

A couple of things of note: first, the Vee sighting at the end as she is stirring something or eating something. I think that she's become an adopted daughter for Camila, and that would mean a sister for Luz. Also, notice how Luz was referred to as "Eda's kid?" And Eda herself referred to Luz as "my kid?" But outside of the main story, I think the main takeaway was the development of The Blights. How Amity looked up to her dad as cool and wanted to emulate him. And you are right about Alador being surprised not that Luz was a girl, but that she was Eda's kid. And that he figured out that the hair color was the same color as abominations, maybe the only one on either side of the screen that figured that out. The single Ed out, he seems to be the person who the bar was set slightly lower. But as Eda mentioned, Ed has so many skills and abilities that to find him to one type of magic would be a sin. Not to mention how supportive The Blights are not only for each other, but supportive of Luz and Amity. But then they've always been, if you go back to Looking Glass, especially Em. One last thing. When the Blights are united, they are unstoppable. Not to mention the Blights AND Team Lumity/Eda. I can't wait to see both families United against the Emperor. Pardon me, I talk too much at my old age..

For Darius and Alador's rivalry, I kind of don't want it explained. I find the idea that the closest they come to explaining it is Alador telling Amity "Darius knows what he did." And then refuses to elaborate profoundly funny.

You should do a video where you press the portal key, stop motion in a door an you walk into it, and then use that comic and give it a voiceover. I think that would be a hella shout out for those two and awesome to see :D (I mean permission for that comic fs but still yee)

This Episode really shook me up. As always such great writing and performances of the VAs. Luz is always so ready to help others, but still has difficulties opening up about her own problems. And even when she does, she still tries to play it down, even though it is obviously very hard for her. I felt that way to much. I just wish I had cartoons with such great writing and performances, that dealt with serious topics and had meaningful messages, when I was a kid/teenager.
