Admin Break Preferences
Added 2023-02-10 01:16:06 +0000 UTCHi all!
As a reminder, my admin week/break is coming up after chapter 20 (Monday)!
I posted a while back letting everyone know that things were picking up in my non-writing life right now, just as a sort of heads-up that I was running low on writing time. The short of it is, they laid off a bunch of people at work, and my workload has unfortunately increased a good bit as a result of there being fewer people now. (If only they'd have laid me off -- I'd be getting a severance package and writing full time for you all! But alas.)
On top of that, I just have a generally busy month (I'm about to move, I'm hosting someone for a week, and I'm publishing and advertising book 2), and it didn't do me many favors that I switched to posting 3x a week right as the layoffs happened.
It's looking a lot like I'm going to have to take more than one week off for my admin week, partly to rest, partly to build up a backlog again, and partly to make sure what I'm putting on here is of high quality.
At the same time, I don't want to take a month's worth of people's subscription if I'm not giving out a month's worth of work! So I wanted to ask all of you what your preference here would be.
1. Just this one time, I could extend my normal admin week to two admin weeks and work hard to build up a decent backlog in that time.
2. I could give everyone a free month on here (pause subscriptions) and take a month off to build up a more serious backlog and do some edits. Longer, but it would be free for everyone. (This option adds 30 free days to your subscription)
Always sucks when I can't write as much as I'd like to, which is another reason I'd like to thank everyone here. Your support helps me get one step closer to quitting my job for good and writing all week long! Lemme know which option feels best for all of you, and I'll make another post afterwards with updates.
Thanks all!

Take the time you need. For my part I appreciate you not playing Kosnik on us and dissapearing without a word. Option 1 sounds to me like "I will try to fit everything into 2 weeks even though I know I would need a month", which never ends well and just a lot of stress for you. And option 2 will let you build up backlog and revise the dreaded ch10 of book 3 :)

2023-02-10 02:11:53 +0000 UTCAt this point, my feelings are more towards whichever leads to less burn out and better author health. That's no. 1 concern. I'd rather take a hit now and longer story overall than have a rush leading to burn out and dead story
