Jan-ebrurary updates

1. Much like your standard Royal Road author, I have succumbed to the pull of Amazon and have decided to throw my second book up on the site under the Kindle Unlimited deal.
Ultimately, won't really affect anyone here, as I'll still be posting chapters on Patreon, so it's more just a head's up. I'll be taking book 1 off Patreon/RR around February 12th, and then I'll be doing the same for book 2 at the end of February. If people like to check back to remember something that happened earlier, I'm happy to throw up e-pub downloads on here before the takedown (or if you have kindle unlimited, you'll be able to grab the book for free there too.)
Relatedly, I'll be taking my February admin week earlier next month, immediately once book 2 is finished for RR folks, which will be after the 13th.
2. Things are a bit stressful and time crunched for me right now!
We just underwent some really big layoffs at work, and unfortunately I did not get laid off. Would have been lovely to have more time to work on the book while also getting severance, but alas, I still have a job.
On the flip side, with a lot fewer people around, it's sounding like I'll be getting some extra work on my plate to compensate. Combined with an upcoming move and the fact that I'm still finishing up edits for book 2 before I publish, I'm definitely feeling the crunch right now! Like. A lot!
Going to do my best so that this doesn't affect you all at all, and I'm hoping to stick to my current 3-a-week schedule still, as long as it remains possible for me. Mostly just a call out that my backlog is pretty dry right now, so sorry if the crunch shows at all in my frantic writing spree or if I'm not responding to some comments!
3. I find myself unhappier and unhappier with book 3's chapter 10 the more and more I think about it. From the poll, I'm glad to see most people liked it, but I feel like I can do something better, tbh, and some of the against-comments made a good bit of sense. I'm not a general fan of ret-cons, but some possible edits incoming on that front! If you're not in the Rare tier, hopefully I'll have that all sorted out by the time you get there, so safe to ignore this one.

1. That happens. It can be problematic if you would get new readers from RR and didn't because if this. 2. I think your unhappiness about not getting fired is telling. Perservance! 3. To be fair, I think the poll was focused on the wrong part. I liked the twist. The reason for that is a bit weak. (I wrote this for the chapter, not the poll, sry) I won't go into it here, because I think this note is for everybody.
