Halloween (1978) FULL LENGTH

Yeah the movie was like the first of its kind, so it terrified people, but definitely slower paced. I agree with what the other poster said, it just looks tamed compared to what we watch now a days. By the way, if you plan to watch more Halloween, its weird convoluted, its been changed into an anthology, changed back to focus on Michael, had a sequel continuing the story after like 9 films, only to be redconned, then turned into a remake, then reconned again lol. All you need to know is skip all the other and just watch Halloween (2018), that one officially cannon and continues the story you just watched.

Michael Myers is one of my favorite killers and yes this movie was very slow and there were many things they could have done better but it is still a classic. I actually really liked the 2nd movie since it continues from the same night and there were much more deaths and killing sequences. But I think this movie shaped the horror movies that came after like A Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday The 13th. I'm sure more people back then wanted more gore and killing like those movies.

Understandable, not sure it has not "aged" well versus what horror has become now vs what you could do back then. Also slower pace was a bit more normal back then and combined with a super low budget film its mostly remembered for what it helped inspire moving forward and the first big break that made John Carpenter the legend he is.

Its a sentimental movie for me i think i first seen it when i was 6 or 7 one halloween when i was too sick to go trick or treating and became my gateway to horror along with the night of the living dead

Rey

I'm so upset lol

I haven't watched the reaction yet, but the first time I saw this movie, I did find the pace a little slow and the movie very soft for a slasher. On the other hand, I find that the atmosphere still works enormously well with the choice of frame, the setting and the music. You really get the impression that the Michael Myers character can appear from anywhere, and his design is still terrifying and striking 46 years later. Transition to the fact that this movie was released in 1978. It's the movie that, along with "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (1974), laid the foundations for all the horror movies that came after it. Of course it's aged, but it was the first to propose this formula (that's why I think it would have had more impact if you'd seen Scream afterwards and not before, but hey, who cares ? x)). In any case, I look forward to have some time to watch this full lenght, Keep up the reactions :)
