Stan Winston did a lot of the effects for the movie. The end scene the Terminator is a mix of stop motion, rear screen projection and actual model of the robot/puppet they created from the waist up that took 6 dudes to operate. Its old school tech of what we thought the future would be so its hydraulically powered with insulated lines and metal which would make it hard to destroy. Glad you liked it.

Later recast and went to Arnold, but Cameron gave him the role as a cop.

2024-09-24 01:48:00 +0000 UTCYou should definitely watch Terminator 2, it is a classic and was the first real test of believable CGI in a movie. Terminator 3 is also pretty good. Like many time travel stories, the Terminator series appears to live in a multiverse, so the timelines in each movie don't necessarily align. Don't let that bother you. Just consider each variation a branch. If you approach the rest of the movies with that in mind, they are OK. I may be in the minority for actually liking the final (most recent?) Terminator: Dark Fate quite a bit!

2024-09-23 15:36:14 +0000 UTCsince it's bound to be a question on your part and I'm sure the youtube comments are already talking about it : In my opinion, even if nothing will surpass the 1st and 2nd movies in this saga, Terminator 3 and Terminator 4 salvation are still worth watching. I wouldn't say the same for Terminator 5 and 6, but it's up to you.

2024-09-23 08:10:27 +0000 UTCIt was during the making of this movie that James Cameron wrote the script for the sequel to Alien, creatively titled Aliens. Cameron originally wanted the male roles switched, Arnold would play the role of the human Reese with Michael Biehn playing the Terminator. It is actually a good thing that swap was made. The one cops is played by Lance Henerikson who will play an android( or artificial person as he likes to be called) in Aliens.
