The exposition was fine because Percy just like the audience didn't have any idea about all the stuff Luke is talking about. So it's less of exposition, and more of like giving Percy a crash course into Greek Mythology , Demigods and How to Survive in their world. Exposition Dumps are irritating when all the characters know the story, and they are just clearly saying it for the audience. But here Percy doesn't know and Luke has to tell him the details as he has been here for far longer. So it's less of an Exposition Dump and more of a Crash Course for Percy.
