Spike was a character Kurt (the real Kurt this one featured in Dinosaurs is based on) and I had created together, and worked on stories featuring him and his friends together, him as writer, me as artist. Somewhere between Jimbo and the Ghost Skater, lol. Kurt introduced me to Judge Dredd and his writing was very like those stories of that period (late 80s). Short, packed full of weird action and goofy punchline wrap ups. Unfortunately the longest story we did somehow was lost, a story where Spike exposes a criminal scheme to replace boxers with robot duplicates! I have a finished 4 pager that was a term paper project for an anatomy class in art school, and a few pin ups and a rough version of a 4 pager that hasn’t aged well… about Spike accidentally spoiling the plans of a feminist cyber-cult. Perhaps I will post these in the future, if y’all would want to see comics I drew as a freshman in art school.
