The first few times I had drawn the Ghost Skater in color, he had a “normal” hue. It wasn’t until the back cover of Hard to Swallow #4 that I first decided to make him blue (inspired by Toshio from Ju-on/the Grudge). I think canonically he was inspired to change color after seeing blue ghosts, and by this time he’s forgotten that he was ever a different color. Ghosts forget things, about the way things were, existing in a behavioral loop that reinforces whatever is in the loop while what’s outside fades away. At least isolated ones, like Mitch has been.
I will probably miss the next post I usually do—- I am having surgery on Friday and staying in the hospital that night. I hope it to be a small hiccup and back to regular routine asap. Wish me luck!
