This post is a piece from the Barron Storey graphic novel class I took in art school. We were to develop backstory for our characters via a family album, and my main character in Rubicon was a stand in for myself—- if I grew up on Mars, had 2 mothers, had an interest in rocket bikes, and was a robotics prodigy. It’s mixed media on illustration board. I would love to work on this story more, it’s had a few periods where I did draw out a dozen or so pages, and the plot has evolved for the better in my mind in the decades since. The original pages in school were mixed media, and the second time I dove into it I was trying out just ink work. I think I would like it to be fully painted. We’ll see if I ever get to it 🫤
I think it would be fun to do one of these for Doug.
