We’ve been watching the Mad Max films, only half of which I had seen before. After seeing Thunderdome for the first time all the way through, I wanted to draw this character, since he has a couple of the features I enjoy drawing, i.e.: angular cheekbones and round shoulders. And though post-apocalyptic films aren’t my favorite genre, I do like drawing the scavenger aesthetic. Dusty, torn, etc. (See the last welcome sketch).

It’s the last 2 days for the kickstarter, and back to relative normality here. Half of the year so far has been spent pulling books together, now to get back to focusing on stories. I think it will be a year before the next book is put together, and that will likely be a 2 person anthology with William, short stories by us both that don’t fit in our other books. I may try printing Burial of the Rats before the next Stray Bullet, as well. I am working on part 3 of Loose, Dinosaurs (Stray Bullet pt3), writing a story for William to draw, and a piece for an anthology Food themed book, that involves recipes as well as comics.

I think I will do a patron survey soon, just to see how people react to the number of posts. Patreon is a weird beast. It’s intended to be a way to support artists you want to help create, but it’s seen by some as content-delivery, and we are encouraged to deliver content to attract support… and then it gets judged by content, or lack thereof. I myself have been trying to give as much as I can, but there’s such a thing as notification fatigue, which patreon sages warn against. So, I am thinking of dropping back to a lighter schedule of posting here… it’s impossible to figure out without the omnipotent magic mirror to ask.
