This one I had started laying out before anything else when I decided to put this zine together. Shizuko has always captivated me, even though she’s really barely in the stories… she’s just so enigmatic and iconic, her shadow falls over everything.
A few days ago, while finishing this up, it occurred to me why I love her so much… she reminds me of my own mother. Physically, sure, but my mother was heavily into the occult, and at about the same age, checked out after succumbing to being broken down by life and society. Honestly I am surprised I didn’t make the connection before.
This ended up being a very illustrative design, something I would use this as a draft before painting a final piece. But I ain’t gonna do that for a xerox mini!
William has done a few wonderful pinups for the zine, so now I just have 1 more pinup and the pages like the patron credit/thank you pages to put together. Thanks for your patience and support!
