Zine cover
Added 2024-01-12 20:00:05 +0000 UTCYesterday I was wondering if this was in fact a “zine” and then I was reminded that “zine” is short for “fanzine” and this is most definitely a fanzine.
I needed an ad for this to start posting and put in a newsletter, and it works as the cover with minor alterations. It’s been over a decade since I put a photocopy mini-comic together, and there aren’t any Kinko’s around anymore… lol. Hopefully the FedEx print center has copiers I can use.
Oh, I know this isn’t the typical Sadako on the cover here, but I like this drawing I did of her from the Japanese TV series, bangs and all. And I drew her iconic looks all over the inside, but write a lot about her differences from that iconic version, so this seemed appropriate to me. Plus, it may spark discussion and interest as people look at the cover.
As far as the title goes, I was playing with the initials of “From the Well” since her goal in the books is to just wreck humanity, out of spite. FTW.
I plan on putting other black and white work together in this xerox fashion (mini-comics), I have all the binding and trimming equipment. It will make it easier to self-publish smaller pieces. I think a collection of autobiographical material is in order.
