Added 2021-12-31 22:49:01 +0000 UTCHey all, the Kickstarter for the anthology didn’t make its goal, which means anyone who backed it will not be charged. Thanks for your support in any case. This was a tough ask—- a very niche subject, and a high goal that would pay each artist fairly. These were probably the main factors in not reaching the goal, though there are certainly others.
The editors are working on plan B to get the book made and I’ll definitely pass on news as I learn it.
There’s some sketchy changes happening at Kickstarter so I don’t think we’ll be using them anymore. They seem to be moving to a crypto/blockchain model for unfathomable reasons (who am I kidding, some crypto-bro convinced the gullible board that this is a good idea). It’s so ridiculous that the director of comics projects at Kickstarter resigned over it, they don’t want to be a party to this shipwreck. Anyway, this is a weird thing to be saying in the first place, I have been involved in over half a dozen Kickstarters and this is the first one to fail 😕
Some people have asked me about the pinups I had offered as incentives to the Kickstarter… I am going to see about having Printful do them to order and sell them in my Etsy shop. I think they will do adult stuff… the only things I have had taken down from Etsy so far have been some Anarchist stickers because a burning cop car promotes violence, they say.
