Thank you so much for taking the time to talk about Fangs of Fortune. The show has taken over my brain for real, it took me half a year to be able to watch anything else properly. I agree with you, that the overall feeling of the show makes Zhuo Yichen the main protagonist. His is the most prominent character arc. His love for Wen Xiao is felt through the show, yet it always felt very familial to me - the one bit of family he made after losing everyone else. The presented love triangle of Zhuo Yichen - Zhu Yan - Wen Xiao felt weirdly squished-shaped; then Li Lun showed up and the triangle was suddenly triangling. :-D Yichen love for Zhu Yan grows steadily as the show progresses and it is such a joy to witness. Wen Xiao's character is so weirdly scripted - she is introduced as badass, yet is helpless and damsel-in-distressing most of the show. She loves Zhu Yan, has the most beautiful romantic scene in one moment, in the next, she seems almost indifferent to him. There is no grow to her character, which is a shame - she is so wonderfully sassy. I loved the show's overall message. There were no "bad" demons or "good" humans. There were demons doing bad things, driven to it by love, by desperation. There were humans doing bad things - for exactly the same reasons. To sum this up: Fangs of Fortune is absolutely a Zhuo Yichen/Zhu Yan love story. P.S. I'm a little sad you didn't mention the mpreg joke. It was the point were I went from "This show can't get any gayer." at the end of each episode (and be proved wrong right in the next one) and just throwing my hands up in the air, admitting this is the queerest show I have seen up to date, and just enjoyed the ride.
