Mask Artwork (details)
Added 2020-04-11 01:25:10 +0000 UTCI wanted to post some close up detail art from these masks I made for my Etsy store. It really took me back to learning photoshop to make texture maps for polygons in video games... so much back and forth. The art is stretched in weird ways that means a lot of adjusting the art and putting it on the (virtual) object and seeing how those adjustments translated, and then back to the art program for further adjustments. A lot of trying to make it look good from different angles as well, and some smoke and mirrors with trying for the optical illusion of depth (inside the mouth, under the chin, et.al.) when possible.
Each of them took about twice as long as the previous one... the Cylon an afternoon, Feral an entire day, and Kuchisake-onna closer to a day and a half. Even if these don't sell a ton (thanks for the sales my friends) I am very proud of the resulting artwork and feel like I still got the skills.
