Hey Droogies!
I am done with page 2, but want to rework one of the panels. Meanwhile, I altered some of the text on page 1, and changed the name. No Matter What seemed more appropriate than the song title, though I'd like to speak on that a bit.
Amenra is a band I've been into for a while now, and though they have a hard post-metal sound, a lot is melancholy and even spiritual. A few days before beginning to work on this I was listening to a trio of mournful songs and realized that they all dealt with this subject, of being separated by death. I dug a little into the lyrics and saw that they were written from the point of view of the departed, sung for the remaining. Some really beautiful and moving stuff, like "all the prayers in the world won't bring me back/but I know I'll be safe inside your heart" from Wear My Crown, and the entirety of To Go On.:And Live With.Out
If you have any interest in listening... the video for the song is here.
to my child
for your eyes alone
all these years now gone
to my child
carry on
a love so real never dies at all
and what i feel will not fade at all
and all i ever wanted was to hold you the forgotten way.
I now belong to heaven, I could not stay there with you.
In a world without salvation, you will pain your way
In my world, my creation my scream bares your name. all glory, no shame
Rest assured that my wings they can carry you too
Rest assure that my wings they can carry you to where ever you want to go
