The Fight had approached me about doing a strip for them. My only experience with such was a period a few years earlier when I had been doing something for Treasure Island Media (yes, that T.I.M.), and that didn't end well. For T.I.M. I was told I could do whatever I wanted as long as it was filthy, and was eventually told after a dozen installments that they were concerned about the direction it was going in. So, that ended.
Then the Fight asked me to do anything as long as it was PG. I was at the time thinking a lot about a condition I was experiencing (I only recently learned it's name; REM behavior disorder ) and how it might be related to hereditary issues of anger and temper. I decided to explore this in comic form, using a gay MMA fighter as a stand-in for myself.
