Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 21 Reaction

Comments

Ok ok I get what you were saying. Definitely it's been there since pretty early on. But so has his compassion/love for his close ones and pain at seeing suffering/injustice. I think it somehow makes an even more dangerous mix. Haven't watched Red Swan since we started the season so it might be time πŸ€” but yeah I get what you say about Sasageyo. I love it but it definitely stands for something completely different than what we're seeing today. It's two different AoT Hahahaha I can see where the number of episodes come as spoilers 🀣 if Eren died in episode 5 and there are 3 seasons (ok back then 25 eps but same) then it's either he'll be pooped by the titan or there's another main character! But yeah I agree it also depends on how you enjoy the show. One extreme case is my sister, I made her watch One Piece and she literally got spoiled at every single twist and event because she needed to know a bit more about characters. I suffered a lot... Will definitely watch it next week, was running against the clock this week to be able to upload earlier and didn't include them but hopefully this week I'll watch both OP and ending with subs

Ooops, I meant to clarify again, To Kill Them was originally in the beach scene, yeah, I meant to say that To Kill Them hinted at Eren's intentions, and ever since what we saw back in episode 6 of the first season also hinted at his intentions, Eren saving Mikasa by killing his enemies and triggering her Ackerman powers to make her strong, all of that also hinted that Eren would go for genocide if the situations were taken to the extremes, and who knew from that scene in the cabins we would now get here..... That is why they included that scene in the memory trip with Zeke, Eren giving Mikasa the scarf hinted at his kindness, his compassion for his friends. Or does Eren regret being compassionate? Of course Eren is gonna choose his friends over the world and like you said Uranai, Eren is not a psychopath even if his solutions are extreme now, his methods corrupt and twisted, he means to save the ones he loves. That whole dichotomy was intentional in Isayama's writing. All the way back in season 1 Armin said you have become a monster and lose your humanity to change the world. And Eren wants to end the world of King Reiss, cannibalizing parents and children, for eternity, a fate he wanted Historia to avoid and not sacrifice her. And wow, you reminded me of that OST from the kid Grisha post credits. Thank you, I don't know why I had forgotten it, I was obsessed rewatching it that scene back then many, many times πŸ˜‚, they absolutely nailed the surprise and awe of the manga scene. It's called on the soundtrack Len (something Japanese) Marley πŸ˜‚. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjjckXiGBwM I will quote the excellent comment by Light Yagami on that video: " 1:07 this motif can be found in Armin's theme, the Owl's theme, and T-KT (the Ocean Scene). Therefore I theorize that this is the Theme of Freedom." I'm gonna say that To Kill Them is my favorite, followed by ThanksAT (when Armin eats Bertholdt and is reborn), and then the Grisha Marley melody. But there are so many, many more. Regarding the Openings Songs. I did not like that many people were disappointed with Red Swan. It is emotionally my favorite, beautiful. We see all the characters as children, and a shot of Grisha and Carla happily holding baby Eren.....none of them knew their horrible destinies, their fate. It's the prettiest opening, but to me the most disturbing. It is innocence in the face of a ruthless, cruel world. The shot of a happy child Eren interacting with an older Eren ( with a feeling that he is troubled, disturbed, not reacting ) is foreshadowing of the memory time traveling we just saw. OP 5 does have the best visuals, but the latest OP may match it, and Sasageyo was my favorite until Red Swan, and I like that season 4 made Sasageyo now somewhat dark, it used to be a call to heroism and sacrifice, and now it became a call to Eldia's dark impulses of nationalistic tribalism. Regarding the spoilers on the OPs conversation. I used to seek spoilers for my favorite show of all time LOST, just like what actors would appear later, where the story was gonna take place, vague things like "3 characters will die" or this character returns, but I stopped myself from getting actual details. For me it was like preparing myself emotionally just in case of disappointment or heartbreak of the story. OPs of animes I always watch, previews and trailers I always watch, but it wasn't until I started watching reactions that I realized others want the pure experience of the story, like you said Uranai similar to the experience of reading the manga. There we don't get previews or OPs, just leaks which avoided like the plague. Each person has their preferences. They don't want to know hints of characters, hints of plot points, hints of locations, or visuals of what is going to be shown later on the show, the want to see it all until it appears in the story, like in the manga, and that is the best way to put it. I have seen many wonderful reactors, many great and interesting people from all over the world, for shows and anime, and the one things in common is that they go in blind until a certain point, their minds blown away at the story and surprises, then the OPs enhance the rest of the show ONLY when it has an actual CONTEXT. They are too smart and hints bother them that they knew ahead of time. It is not that the creators want to spoil with the OPs, it's that they assume you read the manga since the anime is a companion piece to boost sales of it in Japan, and their culture is different since strong hints of plot points are given in the titles (Dragonball πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‚), they are not thinking such things are spoilers in the same way, they think it enhances anticipation for it so you watch it. They want to draw the viewer for more views, more money sales from revenue, it's always about money. Heck, even now people are considering knowing the number of episodes fro this cour a spoiler !! πŸ˜… Anyway all the spoilery images in the OP should have been included after this weeks episode 81. The order of things from the manga has been changed a bit, so now we know. British science writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clark's three laws, the third of which says: "Any sufficiently advance technology is indistinguishable from magic." I remember being amazed when my friend showed me the internet in his phone, wirelessly, without a cable. It was awesome to me, and to people of the past it would seem like magic. You made the best point Uranai, that the apocalyptic conflicts in this great show like in real life are driven by human corruption, failings, their incapacity to empathize, their greed, we cannot blame gods, nor demons, nor magical creatures of myth. It is just us.
