Repulsion

My buddy William lent it to me, and I went in knowing nothing about it.
At first I thought Catherene Deneuve wasn't a very engaging actress, but soon I realized just how good she is. It's a quiet movie, in tone, but each whisper is a thunderbolt because of it. Roman Polanski does a fantastic job building atmosphere in this film.
The film I watched directly afterwards (well, a few days inbetween, but the next film viewed) was the Babadook, which had obvious homages to Repulsion that I would otherwise had missed.
