Omg girl don’t cry :- ( As someone who’s consumed the whole franchise, I really liked this adaptation. I feel a bit bad saying this after seeing your reaction, but I’ve never been a fan of yi city arc coz I never got invested in the characters. Not even in the novel. But here, I got very emotional. And I prefer they kept everything short and fast-paced. With only 9 episodes left to wrap up the main story, I think this choice was the best. Production wise this episode had great visuals and directing. The ending especially was gorgeous! I loved the cinematography so much <3<3 It really reminded me about S1. Some other random observations: yi city seemed to strongly parallel that of the main story in that wei ying recalled his days of turmoil while inside Empathy. some intense reflection time incoming? Wei ying’s line “it’s better than he is dead. Only the dead will listen.” was so good! lan zhan sheltering wei ying from the rain (can they even feel it, lol?) and the ghosts of his past might be my fave wangxian moment. xue yang is a scum. a pathetic scum.
