A More Civilized Q&A - December 2022 - The Skip List
Added 2023-01-08 06:40:59 +0000 UTCFirst of all: Thanks for your patience with us! This one should've been out last week, but a combination of travel, COVID, and end-of-year delays kept us from being able to do this when we wanted.
Second: This isn't our usual style of Q&A. In a sense, there really is only one question, and that is: Which episodes of Clone Wars should I watch?
This is a question we've been asked a ton individually and as a group, especially by those folks who only hopped on board during Andor! Well, here you go, the AMCA Skip List is now REAL.
Consider this a living document, which we'll continue to update as we finish seasons of Clone Wars (and probably Rebels too!)
Eventually it'll also live over on our Cohost, but for now the Google Docs link above is the best place to see it. We explain (and figure out) our methodology in the episode itself.
Thanks again for your support over the two years. It's meant the world to us! Hope everyone's holidays were as good as can be, and that your 2023 is off to a great start!

Is this going to be finished/updated with the remainder of TCW, and also Rebels? Can we expect a revisit as this year's holiday special?

2023-03-28 23:22:18 +0000 UTCI’m all for going in release order, but if the crew checked these comments, I would say to stay in animated SW (minus Andor) rather than switching over to live action (mainly The Mandalorian). So Rebels > S7 > Bad Batch, with Tales of the Jedi in there after S7. Bad Batch S2 is so good and fits right into the continuity, it’s going to be hard to wait however many years for them to get there!

2023-03-14 07:04:46 +0000 UTCI love that Natalie basically wanted all but 6 episodes
2023-02-14 06:42:01 +0000 UTCseconded - season 7 and bad batch are very juicy on all the topics you like to dig into!

2023-02-13 21:56:54 +0000 UTCRelease order made sense for the movies, I don't think it makes sense for Rebels. I absolutely love Rebels and it has good tie-ins to TCW, I just think you'll regret not going into season 7 and Bad Batch immediately when they go into SO much post-66 stuff you all are already dying for.

2023-01-24 19:29:16 +0000 UTCThey've said they plan to do this at some point before
2023-01-23 22:36:01 +0000 UTCif they’re considering going to Resistance (please don’t) they should first have to force themselves to watch Droids and Ewoks

2023-01-22 07:25:22 +0000 UTCJust here to say I'm happy they're doing Rebels, even though there's elements of the show on which I'm pretty mixed. I think the payoff of release order is worth. S7 is not just post-Rebels but like also post-Mandalorian.
2023-01-21 01:58:34 +0000 UTCRebels is short... right? Right, guys?

2023-01-19 15:20:55 +0000 UTCHas AMCA ever covered the Genddy Tartakovsky mini series? I see it as much of a foundational text to the series as the prequel trilogy itself. Many of the characters and concepts(Grievous, Assajj, Arc Troopers, Shirtless Kit Fisto etc) are first explored in those mini episodes. Some moments, especially with Anakin, hit harder than the films. It’s definitely worth a watch between 6-7 if it hasn’t yet been covered yet.

2023-01-14 21:30:43 +0000 UTCAs much as it will suck having to wait for you to get to Season 7, watching Rebels first is the right move because it was very obviously made in the context of Rebels having had existed.
