The Mekkan Calendar

How many days in a month, months in a year, and significant dates, suggested by Orekh! Unfortunately, I just don't know a lot of significant dates, as I haven't really spent a lot of time writing out the historical lore to such granularity. At least, not events I'm willing to discuss yet. But it is true that every month has exactly four weeks of 28 days, so each month's numbers are always in the same place. All the names of the months are translated from their language to ours for your convenience. What's the 13th month? Uh... untranslatable.
well it has a tilt since they have seasons, given that they arent incredibly harsh its probably similar to earth's tilt

Planetary aspects of Mekkan as far as I know: -Star: G2? -Semi Major Axis: 1 AU (based on the year length), -Eccentricity: N/A (likely very low) , -Mass: ? (likely 1 earth mass) - Radius: probably like earth -Gravity: likely 1 g -Axial tilt: N/A - Day length: 24 hours probably due to year length -Average temperature: Probably same as earth but could be a bit colder -Atmospheric composition: Assuming same as earth, -Atmospheric pressure: probably same as earth, Edit: trying to make a list lie this on pateron is a pain

The thirteenth month is Calibration, meant to normalize any variations on the calendar. The significance might vary based upon culture - either as a good time of the year or ill-omened due to being "outside" the rest of the year. A time for supernatural things to occur good and ill.

Weekless days are a no-go for the Abrahamic religions, who insist that their day of worship happen exactly every seven days with no exceptions. People get VERY insistent when they think that their afterlife is on the line.

I've honestly heard about this, but companies don't want it because then they'd have to pay their workers technically more per month and government's won't be making as much from taxation.
But that's just a theory! A geographic theory! lol

Ah, Faceless, I didn‘t say no but not yet. If Karen is shown with a tail, Maren should also have streaks. As this is not the case, this fictional scene took place on the timeline before the happenings at the estade …

It's Karen that has the darker skin. And in addition to the Keidran ears, she also has a very thin layer of fur. That's what makes her "skin" look darker.
As an aside, does she not have a tail in the Sketchverse?

Well if going by the classic Julian calendar names and continue the September (7th) - October (8th) - November (9th) - December (10th) chain, then it would be logical to have the 13th month called Undecimber (11th).
As for why the 12th month of the calendar is literally named "Tenth", you'll have to ask the Ancient Romans.

Smarch, obviously. The weather's lousy. Also March should be the first month of the year so that the numbered months make sense, that way "Smarch" can be short for "second March" and it can be a metaphor for the marching forward of time.

I personally would love if we used a 13 month calendar in real life. You can fit exactly 13 months with 4 weeks a month, always starting on a Monday and ending on a Sunday. New Years Day and Leap Year would then be their own special weekless days on the last weekend of the year. (so it go New Month 28th Sunday > New Years Day > Leap Year Day (if needed) > Jan 1st Monday)
This would make every holiday much more consistent and probably even save money for organizations on planning/scheduling. As for a name? Eh, I say name it Sol after the sun. It's a relatively culturally-neutral addition that way, but any name will do.

So... 13 month, each with 28 day, 364 days.
November 18th, is the day number 326 in the Year in the TK calendar.
So, it's equivalent in our calendar (the Gregorian calendar) is... November 22th.

Joshu Kel'Machan

This also confirms that Maren is 21 years old and Karen is 17, although due to having one less day per year, physically speaking they would be much younger than you or I would be at the same age. There's probably some maths to figure out how much which I'm not smart enough to come up with.
