From what I could find regarding your point at the end of the discussion, is that the 2 different directors for both seasons did work on both seasons, just as different roles (if that makes sense) Keiichirō Saitō: S1 -> Director for Season 1, Episode Director for S1 EP28 & Both OPs (also Storyboard and Key Animation for some other Season 1 episodes) S2 -> Assistant Director for Season 2, Episode Director for S2 EP2 (as of now, we don't know for future episodes) (also Storyboard and Key Animation) Tomoya Kitagawa: S1 -> Episode Director for S1 EP2, EP8, EP25 (also Storyboard for some other Season 1 episodes) S2 -> Director for Season 2, Episode Director for S2 EP1 & OP (as of now, we don't know for future episodes) (also Storyboard for some other Season 2 episodes) But in general, I think I know what you mean, but I wouldn't say there's not this "flair", just that it is less present, which by no mean is taking away from my enjoyment of this season so far. Personally, I find all other aspects of this season (so far) to be on par/as equal as the first one.
