Man, looking at this pic, it makes me realize just how bad the Lioness's fall was. The stick pulled out I estimate has a foot of blood on it (~30 cm). The fact that there's blood on her lips when her wound is located in her abdomen and not on her chest, means the lance went UP into her lungs, or she also suffered a heavy blow to the ribs during said fall. Broken ribs or pierced lung, her last moments had to have been utter agony. And all Willow could do was watch, with an insane thought constantly reeling in their "head". "I caused this, it's my fault my friend is dead." I am really glad to see that she is trying to move on, despite what happened.

Looking at it, I can almost see a silhouette made out by the spirit, almost like someone is offering something in their hands and with their head bowed slightly.

Laura put a comforting hand on her friend's shoulder, and turned to face her. "Do you...want to talk about it?" Willow looked back at her, silent sorrow in her eyes. Laura thought that the fur beneath them was...damp. Tear-stained. "No...", Willow sighed at last. "No, I don't think I can talk about it...". Many miles away, under the now colossal tree, the roots cradled the body and soul of the little girl where she had been laid to rest. And across both time and distance, Willow could feel the pain, as clear as day... Laura, seeing Willow as she was, drew her in for a hug. "It's okay..." she replied. "I understand."

Poor Willow and her friend. :'c Though, on a technical level, the lighting in this piece is beautiful! The way Willow's light refracts through the rain and reflects off the tree and rock is just SO cool! Thanks as always, Tom!
