After Robin met Sabo, and learned he is his brother, why would she tell Luffy? It’s not her place and as we saw, Sabo clearly wanted to do it himself and be there in person for the moment..

2025-12-14 20:23:51 +0000 UTCIt's incredible how Oda operates. He has this knack for turning minor details into major plot points that feel completely planned from the start. A perfect example is the whole Sabo storyline. While it seems likely the character was conceived around Marineford, Ace's 'A S CE' tattoo, with the crossed-out 'S', was initially probably just a piece of cool design. Yet, Oda retroactively spun that little crossed-out letter into the profound, emotional core of Sabo's entire existence and somehow weaved it into the story. It's the same kind of brilliance we saw with the Whitebeard/Doflamingo connection which im sure you did not even realize, but go back and view the first time Whitebeard made his first introduction. His IV bags had the smiley-face jolly roger long before Dressrosa was even conceptualized in the story. You should start to pick up on alot of these as you get deeper into the series such as the dwarfs being listed on the wanted poster during sabaody arc or shanks showing up at the marinford war, which clearly was telegraphed earlier in thriller bark, yet oda said he never planned it. Oda takes these small, almost insignificant visual cues and minor scenes and weaves them into the overarching lore so flawlessly. Sometimes its difficult to surmise what he actually planned and what he didn't but it just works so well for the story. There is quite alot more of these bread crumbs very early in the OP series, that you are not even aware of because you need to get further, to understand the future implication and how it connects, but im sure someone here will point them out when the time is right.
