Oda definitely pulled the right move in having half the crew + Momo and Caesar split off on their own offscreen adventure. With Sabo's group and all the colosseum warriors involved, there was already more than enough to focus on already.

Also yeah from my understanding (at least the way the the episode is edited anyway) that Franky heard the clank of a lock being undone or something on the door.
