Yeah there isn’t really a reason to think he’s lying, but just the fact that Nowak sees people lie everyday under the most intense circumstances, people like that develop a supernatural mode for bullshit is all I was saying I’m surprised he didn’t catch onto that subconsciously

Why would Nowak think Antoni let Jolenta run away to just fake her death when he very well would have killed her if it weren't for a rare coincidence of the rookie inquisitor eavesdropping on Antoni's plan and risking his life to help her escape. And the gloves are sort of enough proof of Jolenta's alleged demise. And yeah it is sort of interesting how "faithful" he is to God be it for his daughter or for real, you wouldn't really think that of him given his blasé and nonchalant attitude.
