I'm watching this anime alongside you, so I don't know where the story will go. But so far, this heretic seems less interesting to me than the previous one. His character feels more cliched — the typical “rational atheist” who easily dismantles others' beliefs. In contrast, the first heretic, who said something like “I believe in God, so I seek the truth in a world that cannot help but be beautiful”, came across as much more original and layered. That said, I might be wrong, and this current character could still turn out to be more compelling as the story unfolds Either way, thanks for the reaction — it's always great watching along with you!
