June 18 2025: Counter Reset @ 3️⃣2️⃣ after weekend trip. Carson felt sick and needed to take a day off after getting back.
If we stay on track we intend not to miss a day at least until the 31st of May, which will be Episode 566 by our current counts. We also intend to start posting Orb, Fate/Zero & another show yet-to-be-announced twice a week for the next 3 weeks until the end of the month. We also intend to start yet another show sometime next month but we'll see when we get there.
(We also intend to bring back early access for shows, similar to how we do for one piece: 1 week ahead on edits, 2 weeks for uncuts)
This is a show of good faith for those of you who have stuck with us through these inconsistent times that we intend to do everything we can to keep on top of things and move forward with new content without sacrificing consistency. And hopefully, if we stick close to this goal, then by the end of the month you as a patron can be confident in our ability to stay on top of things and deliver.
With all that being said, as I mentioned in a previous post; I am having some health concerns that may or may not interfere with this goal. I'm not comfortable sharing details on what's going on right now, and I didn't plan on sharing anything, but we figured you deserved some explanation. I will elaborate more at some point in the future, but for now what matters is that despite this declaration of intent, there are some things that must come before One Piece.
Altogether, we want you to know that we don't take your support for granted, and that we are still beyond grateful to all of you and we don't want to squander this community.
I will update the counter every day when a one piece uncut is posted. The cutoff is 6am PST. If we don't post the uncut by then, the counter will be reset and an edit will be posted below with details explaining the holdup to the best degree that we feel comfortable.

I hope you understand this comes from a place of care and genuine concern for not only you two but also the channel. At what point is it just a smart idea to hire another editor? It feels like there is a cycle where you will lock in, be on point, and then one thing gets missed or delayed, or someone gets sick, or you want to take a break, and it all goes spiraling. The cycle has happened over and over again, and we can all see the additional stress caused by missing uploads, so why not hand over some of the responsibility to an editor? I understand that this does not solve everything, but would it not be nice to have someone who can work on your backlog so you do not feel so deep in a hole? Maybe just edit the weekly shows that will be important and hand off the smaller shows to someone else. This would also make it so you could create a schedule for people to see, and it could actually get stuck to. Even if it was just to get out of this current hole I think help is needed. Would not a huge burden be lifted if you did not have to worry about falling behind if you got sick or wanted to take a week off? Life will happen, burnout will happen, but the lack of communication only makes viewers more frustrated. A comment I see often on YouTube is "why was x show dropped" and there never is a clear place for them to get the answer. If you watch everything Boldcast uploads, or read every comment section, you may end up finding the answer in a stream or a random video, but why not make a post on what shows are on hiatus or dropped so people have answers? In my opinion, it sucks when a video gets uploaded to YouTube without the uncut on Patreon, or like with episode 647 of One Piece, just never getting uploaded. The thing is, oftentimes people will comment or even @ you, but no communication is given back. As someone who is a ride or die Boldcast fan, it is frustrating seeing so many comments being angry or frustrated with the channel, but I completely understand them. It is not fun watching you guys when you seem so stressed out. My dream for you guys would be to have fun with reactions and not have to stress out so much. It feels like you guys are so stressed that you cannot even watch things that are enjoyable to you. It has almost been a year, and there is still no Haikyuu movie reaction, Orb has been delayed so much, and I feel like these are things that would be very enjoyable to watch, but the stress of being so far behind makes it so you arent in the mood. I do not think the solution can simply be to lock in. From an outsider's perspective, the stress seems really high, and I worry that with a new season of anime around the corner, you will be too far behind to catch up. JJK is such a massive boon for your channel, but if the channel is in complete disarray by the time that comes out, it will be a massive wasted opportunity. By the time JoJo Part 7 comes out, I feel like you will have been too far behind on other things to catch up to it. I imagine when Bobmikejoe took over One Piece, it was a massive weight off your shoulders, and I feel the same weight could come off if you could find someone to also help with the main channel. Like I said, I am ride or die, so I am not going anywhere, it just sucks when the vibe of the comments on both Patreon, Discord, and YouTube are so negative. I hope this month is filled with less stress for the both of you. Edit: Recently I fell behind on some work and it just gradually built up to the point where it became a problem. I was ready to get it all done and then I became sick for a few days so it got pushed even further back. I decided I could not do it on my own so I had a buddy of mine come over and help me. The cost financially was way less than the stress that was relieved by starting at square one again. Idk anything about the youtube editing world so it may be a dumb suggestion but these are just my thoughts.

A schedule would be cool tho, but I also see the reasons for not wanting a schedule, it kind of shoeholes them into stuff they might not want to do

I'll echo the sentiment of not wanting you to stress too much about taking the time you need to get to a place where you can be more consistent but I can totally resonate with not wanting to have any regrets and wanting to power through. I honestly feel pretty bad about not being as involved as I was before I started attending a university but I'm in the same boat where I don't want to have any regrets about opportunities wasted. It sounds kind of weird to me to even say that I feel bad about being less active because I don't think I actually provide that much with my comments aside from back when we were getting people to understand where you guys stand on spoilers. But, since you guys recognized me as someone who you would want as a mod I don't want to let that go to waste, if that makes any sense. I know you get requests all the time about it but I'm actually really excited to see you guys continue Orb and I may actually watch Fate/Zero for the first time with you guys! I truly hope everything that's going on behind the scenes, be it health related or just life in general, goes smoothly, not just so you can get back to posting more but also because I want the best for you guys. You guys have given me a place to reflect on my favorite anime of all time with people who enjoy it just as much as I do and who have insights that I would never have been exposed to anywhere else. Even if I argue with people in the discord sometimes or get frustrated reading comments that border on spoilers and have to weight the pros and cons of responding or letting it be, I havent felt like I belonged in an online community the way I feel I fit into yours and I have nothing but gratitude for that.

I will admit $10 a month is a bit heftier than all the other accounts I'm subbed to, but you guys make quality videos and you always try to stay consistent. That effort is highly appreciated. Pretty much as long as you never have us pay for a virtually empty month, I'm fine with a more sporadic schedule than the usual daily one.

The kind of poor pattern that we could look back in a few years and say "if only we just buckled down when we had the chance, we'd still be doing our dream job if we just focussed" We don't want to have regrets in the future, and we just need to remember that its always worth it to try. For ourselves, and for you guys who support us. I know its not good to stress about letting people down every once-in-awhile, but there comes a point where its just too much and we need to smarten up (serious irl things aside obviously)

Technically i think you guys are a few days ahead of where patreon is "supposed to be" but with how poor we've been lately with posting, I figure its in everyone's best interest if we just stay the course at least until the end of the month before correcting that discrepancy. once the month turns over we can do more side content once a week and it will naturally go back, but like I said we've been off our game and you guys have already been sufferings for eps to come out on time, so this is the best we can do for now
