UNCUT Update

As well as an update about what we will be catching up on for One Piece stuff we missed (movies, etc.) as well as the podcast and new episodes etc

im not looking into the details of all of this cause i want to avoid spoilers however i will say: Yeah Ty, I obviously know you mean well, but I've noticed more curtness in your comments when i find them as well. I understand it, as someone who also has had to deal with repeating the same things over and over. But I just try to remember that people are excited about the content and about talking about their favorite show, and try to give you somments second looks before posting. Everyone has different definitions of spoilers, its not all people trying to ruin things, they usually are just excited. And also we have to remember that every other one piece community (im sure) is way more relaxed with spoilers than we are. SO people come here form other places on teh internet saying their memes and having what they think are 'expected' conversations, and then we have different rules. I know you are aware of that obviously, but its important to remind yourself. I remind myself of stuff like that all the time. For pedro, yeah this topic is something we've been mulling over for a while, and I know that the better animated version might seem like the better version, but I imagine its like a recap movie that has redrawn scenes (as a comparison). If you've ever watched the recap movies for AoT for example, they are faster, cut out a lot of the longer winded stuff, and that can be good in some cases, but its not the optimal first time experience. One Piece's anime is obviously not on the level of quality as AoT, so that complicates the comparison, but you know what I'm trying to say. You also have to remember, that you and most people who have seen both, saw the remake after seeing the original, which changes the way you compare them. I'm sure we'll like the remake more, but if there are things missing, then maybe that's not the way to go for us. You have to remember that everyone was expecting us to drop One Piece after we didn't fw Ennies Lobby as much as they thought because they were SURE we wouldn't like Thriller Bark, and it turned out to be our fav arc yet.

We've gone over it a ton in the past but just to reiterate, referencing how good or bad something that they havent seen yet is, sets their expectations for that future content and we consider it a form of spoiler.

They end of removing context from the scene overall. They did say that maybe they may end up watching the remaster to compare so we could one day look forward to that!

I realise they cutted a lot of things, but i considerer you are still getting more quality than with the extended scenes of the first one. Some episodes adapted something like 6 pages. And i also dont see the manga as a bible that you cannot remove anything from. Oda adds some random pannels a lot of the times cuz he cant bother to make the chapter more fluid since he still needs to release multiple of them per month. But you can disagree, as i said i alredy dont expect them to watch the remake

Yes i know the difference between better pacing and faster pacing. Yes i think the remaster makes for a better viewing experience, for the reactors, for me, for their channel, because i think the remaster is ACTUALLY just better. And thanks for being happy for me

2025-03-28 21:53:17 +0000 UTCFaster pacing does not mean better pacing. They cut out establishing shots they will cut the set up for jokes. We zip all over the place and the music choices are just worse overall. If you enjoy it more I’m happy for you. However are you thinking about Boldcast’s enjoyment or your own. The remaster is not great for first time viewers straight up especially for ones trying to react. Also they have said twice now they aren’t reacting to the remaster and are going to watch the original.

2025-03-28 21:47:22 +0000 UTCThe animation is better, the pacing is better, the only thing that is worse is the soundtrack becuse they couldnt have new songs for the remake and it was hard to fit the old ones into the new timeframe of each scene. But for how bad thr pacing was in the first try, i would take that trade any time

2025-03-28 21:40:31 +0000 UTCNo, that's just bad as a first time viewing experience. The cut isn't the best, and it's understandable why, but I'd definitely recommend watching the original version first. I think Toei is gonna remaster every post-TS arc eventually.
