I do recommend using it but a lot of people want to try and watch the real anime to experience the story, which is completely up to you guys :)

In the real world, oda was releasing the chapters week by week, but in this time in the next few arcs his health condition got really bad. So there were a lot of pauses in the manga but the anime started to really prolong scenes more than necessary (I remember that only one episode was people screaming at luffy on something which is literally like 3 pages of the manga). After this time oda started to do his current schedule, which is 3 chapters and then a break of a week, instead of a chapter every week.

2025-03-26 06:23:57 +0000 UTC@Matthew Enies Lobby suffered the same pacing actually, I discovered One Piece in 2006, binged the f out and it's around Gear 2 reveal (VS Blueno) was the latest episode, can't get enough so I read the manga... just saying that I know the anime that time was starting to catch up to the manga so it's understandable anyways, the new one just fixed the pacing, it'a still low budget in terms of animation (prolly because the top guys are working on the latest arc) I even watch my animes with improved shaders that it's optimized for 4K HDR - still the remastered was not an eyegasm, just the pacing was a lot better

Whenever it shows Buggy I view any developments he comes up with as a joke, like his uncle theory. Now if either Mr 3 or Alvida say Rayleigh might be Luffy's uncle then I'd take it seriously.

And Oda's reminding us of that. Happened too after Enies Lobby when she noticed Robin joined them but she trusted Luffy instead. And at the beginning of Alabasta, we meet Bonney who leaves with the message that Time spent together means nothing to true friendship And we end the arc with him sacrificing as a friend, Vivi asking if she'll still be a crewmate And the crew leaving off on the declaration that Yes she is It's almost like Oda knew we'll stay a long time without her from then, so he planted that scene. All that probably made the goobyes even more powerful.
